Cendyne 48x burner $29.96 @cc B&M

saw this at the dale city va store, had 2 of them on the shelf. decent deal if you need one now and hate rebates like i do. I tried looking on the side to see if it had a lite on extension on it but couldnt see anything.

anything ending in 5 or 6 is discontinued so these are goners...

Hm.. if this is no rebates, it seems warm.. especially if you consider the fact that if the Cendyne is a Lite-On, you can overclock it [via firmware] to the 52x version.....

From what I understand, it cannot be overclocked to the 52x unless it is the 48x24x24

Cendyne does not only rebadge Lite-On drives. There are also drives from Optorite and Apacer that I have seen in 48x boxes. You need to check the serial number on the back and look for LTR, that means it is a Lite-On.

Ya, I got a cendyne drive which was a rebadged Lite-on - [look for LTR on specs sticker] and it is great. Can't recommend it enough!
