Found this Canon Canoscan N670U at office depot.com but they were out of stock for my zip code. I printed out this page and took it to my local Staples and they had it for 79.98 with a free Belkin Powered USB hub. I asked to PM to office depot and got the scanner and the USB hub for $59.88. It's a decent scanner but definately not high end. Can be setup to sit vertically on its side to minimize desk space and is WinXP compatible out of the box( which is the reason I was replacing my old scanner which wasn't used often but indispensible when needed). To all you flamers, there may be better deals but after doing numerous searches I'm content with the one I got!

Hm....is that what this little plastic piece is for? I was wondering about that when I open the box. I should read the manual.

That's not a bad deal.

I was lucky enough to find a floor model CanoScan 1220u at Staples on Sunday. It didn't come with anything except the unit itself. Since they're USB powered, I didn't mind. The store claimed that it would be under manufacturer warranty for a year, just as if sold new. I couldn't resist at $40 flat. Had to pay tax, of course.
