Warm: Canon Powershot A620 $225/shipped @ ZZF

Here's a slightly better deal from another excellent vendor. 224.00 with free Ground Shipping and no tax except for NJ. A big plus is you live in CA, because ZZF will tax you.
Canon A620 at Beach Camera Scroll down a bit when you click on the link.
I have bought and recommended cameras from Beach before. They are right up there with B&H Photo.
Good find though OP.

Heh, the reason I didn't go with Beach is because I live in NJ and didn't want to pay tax. 😉 Also, I liked the $1.99 2nd day Fedex.

Beach Camera is, as you've stated, an excellent vendor. Circuit City has the same camera on "sale" for $269.99.

This is really an excellent camera. I recently purchased one as an upgrade from the Canon Powershot A95. For $225, this is a great value...better than "Warm". I personally believe this is a better value than the new "top of the line" Powershot A700 that Canon just released. The major upgrade on the A700 was to extend the zoom range from 140mm to a 210mm equivalent, though no image stabilization provided. Other changes were not so good. While the A700 LCD panel was increased from 2" to 2.5" over the A620, it is no longer an articulating LCD panel which is a very nice feature. Also, resolution was decreased from 7 to 6 mp, though probably not significant.

For my money, I would opt for the A620 but if zoom is really important, then pick up the Powershot S2 (or S3) that has a better zoom plus IS.

Bottomline, this is a steal for the quaility and features. I think it may just be the perfect "grab-n-go" digital camera.

I was at Office Depot last night, and they had the Canon Powershot A620 for $250 with a $75 MIR good thru 6/3. The MIR is B&M only, I believe.

250-75 = 175+tax OTD.

Score.

The reason I said "warm" is I've seen quite a few vendors have the camera for under $250/shipped. NicePants42's deal qualifies as "en fuego"! 😀

Ok, so at first I was told that my local OD would have the camera back in stock 6/1. I called last night, and they told me they wouldn't have it until ~6/7. I mentioned the rebate, and I was told that if I could produce some kind of ad showing the MIR, they'd honor it in the store on 6/7, meaning that I wouldn't even have to send in the rebate, it'd be $175 OTD. I'm going to have to go back and grab the 1gb SD card they've got for 30-something dollars today. 1gb pro duo's are 30-something also.

Yes, I figured it out. I already had a 35 off 250 coupon Dell sent me last month so I didn't have to buy one off eBay. Even though I has to pay tax for Dell Home, I got mine for 189 shipped. Now I have to sell my A80 on eBay.

Well, I went to my local OD at lunch and NicePants42 was on the mark. The camera had been reduced to $250 with a $75 rebate. After local taxes and rebate, this jewel of a camera is $192.50.

As Jim Carey would say in "The Mask"- SSSMMMOKINNNN....

Man I'm really tempted to pull the trigger. I'm pretty much in the same situation, except I have an A40 to unload instead.

Do you mean I could have bought a coupon from eBay to stack with my 35 off 250 and the 30% off coupon? Can you stack that many coupons?

The Dell deal for 174 shipped (plus tax if Dell taxes your state), is still going on. You just need to find the 30% off code and buy a 35 off 300 coupon from eBay for 0.99. I ordered yesterday and the camera shipped the same day.

I can only get it down to $204???

Hmmm... I think you are only using Dell's 20% that it's defaulted at the moment. 239 is their price, which reflects the 20% off they are giving. There is another code which gives you 30% off instead of the 20%. 299-30% off = 209. 209 -35 off coupon is 174.
