$349 - $45 -$45 - 10% ($34) = 225

I didn't have the 10% coupon. The free CF is nice too

I dont know if it means anything, but I called OfficeMax, and they told me that their policy is this:

1) attempt to ship within 7 business days,
2) if they cant do that, inform the buyer at 7 days how long it will take.

I can't say I trust them, but that sounds like a fair policy.

<Rant on>
My camera was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Nothing shows up. Nobody called me. I check my email this morning. Nothing.

I call OM today. It turns out they cancelled my order, and didn't bother telling me. The Customer Service Rep claims she called the warehouse, and the warehouse said that they called my credit card company (AMEX) and AMEX said that my name doesn't match the number on the card. I verify that OM had all my correct information (name, CC #, billing address is the same as shipping address).

OM then says that they can't get me a camera for 3-5 days, because it's not in stock anywhere nearby. It was obviously in stock yesterday, since the warehouse claimed they called AMEX.

I say screw it, and decided not to attempt to renew the order.

I call AMEX. AMEX claims they have no record of anyone calling them for a purchase yesterday, although they claim they log all such attempts.

Somebody's lying. Since OM didn't bother telling me that they cancelled my order, I'm guessing it's them. Screw OM!

<Rant off>

Huh? Officemax had the $299 price before. I didn't know Dell did.

Are there Dell coupons like there are OM coupons? $50 off maybe? I've never bought from Dell.

Gateway has the 299 price too. And I have a 50 off coupon (one time only) from them.
See if you can find someone who has bought a gateway that doesnt need their coupon.

It would be the same price, only without the CF.

hmmmmm, is it worth canceling my OfficeMax order?

Nah, I think I'll settle for my A40.

I'm concerned about the "softness" and other issues mentioned about the A70, will require more research.

I guess I don't get a flyer from them. I think I have in the past. I just moved, so junk mail like that isn't making it over here. If it doesn't get filtered out by the USPS, it will take a couple weeks to catch up with me, for sure.

Does anyone have this flyer and not need it?

I'm willing to look past the known softness issue and give it a shot myself. I don't plan on using the camera for any serious photography, since I still have an old SLR that takes amazing shots. This is mostly for snapping pics for a web site and eBay items, maybe making some 4x6's if something I take actually looks good!

How is Dell's return policy?

Hmmm.... I haven't gotten any flyers from Dell lately. Is the 15% off coupon available on any other sites? Is it a one time only use (like the 16 digit Staples coupons) or can it be used multiple times.

I have to ask. What the hell time does UPS come that you're still sleeping?!

Depends.

1) What's your budget for rechargeable batteries?
2) Do you already have a NiMH battery charger?

Thomas Distributing has the Maha Charger (not the new cool charger) bundled with 4 2000 mAH batteries for $37 + shipping or with 8 for $48 + shipping.

Edit:
They also have the bundle with 2200mAH batteries 4 for $39 + shipping and 8 for $49 + shipping

We know. The deal's dead at OM, but Dell could have it much, much cheaper if I can track down one of these 15% off coupons!

For those of you comparing this to the S200, I believe this is a better camera. At the store I work at we sold the S200, sell the S230, S400, and A70. The S2xx Series only have a 2x optical zoom. This may not seem like a big deal but the 3x on the a70, as well as almost every other camera we offer is a great benefit. The a70 is very easy to use, and the AA batteries I think is a bonus. The S series cameras use a li-ion battery pack which gives you enhanced battery life but could prove to be costly when you are out on a trip and don't have another battery handy when yours runs out. Extra batteries can be had for 30-40 bucks for the s series cameras though so you might wanna think about that. The one to consider I believe at this point is the S400, which has many of the features you look for in a 4 megapixel camera with the smaller body style. The only drawback is that the S400 will cost you about twice as much and sometimes I believe the macro shots aren't as good as the a70. Another good bet is the Minolta F100, probably the best digital camera I have ever used. You should be able to find a pretty hot deal on them at this point also. Good luck to those who get in on this deal!
