[Update] Ok.. here's the update. The listing on the website was in error, so the few that placed the order while that was up said they are getting sent a $20 GC in the mail after calling them up and speaking with a CS rep. So now, it is 'officially' $54.98 - $30 MIR = $24.98 - $10 off $50 coupon = $14.98 + (tax on $54.98). Deal expires July 5th.

<Old post>
This is interesting, if I could find the rebates I would post them, but they are not up yet. From the looks of the faceplate [on the example image] and the text on the box it seems to be a LiteOn. I don't think this is a repost, but this is a flaming deal if both the $30 and $20 go through.

*edit* You might be able to throw in some FAR 'little necessities' like Antivirus or SpamGuard to push it up enough to use a coupon. Might even cover taxes with a $10 off $20 coupon which noone shall post here

This is my calculation

$69.98 - $15 IR - $10 off $50 = $44.94 + tax (leave store)
- $30 MIR -$20 MIR = -5.06 + tax (final, if both rebates go through)

The question is: what are the nature of the rebates? One from Mfr, one from Staples?

can't find the rebate online, seems it is in-store only.
the $15 off $75 printable coupons is expired on 6/21:frown:
there is a $30 off $150 floating around though

so, the price will be $4.94 + (tax for $54.94) after MIR

Here several people posted that the BusLinks are indeed LiteOns. Namely the model #RW5252.

Also there are some online staples coupons to be used and if you want to buy it in store that is a simple fix. Just take an expired printable coupon, like those sent in emails and open the coupon in IE and click on View ---> Source and then just edit the numbers from the email to the numbers of the online coupon. Print it out and the guys at Staples wont be able to tell the difference. Have done it several times already, Works great :D

its not cheating, the codes are valid like any others. If they were not allowed to be used in the store then they would simply have the system deny them. It just takes care of the porblem of arguing with the manager. This way you are in - out and no discussion.

---

It IS cheating, and it is fraud. You are out of here.

Good bye.

Are the rebates for the CD-RW and 120GB HD in-store only? Do they usually show up online later in the day (for online purchases)?

anyone notice the third line?

$69.98 - $15 instant savings - $30 mail-in rebate = $24.94

and then

$24.94 before $20 mail-in rebate.

So this is $54.94 - $30 MIR - $20 MIR.

$24.94 after rebate.
C'mon It's a TYPO! No Deal!
$24.94 after rebate, less any coupon.
Let us know if you CAN get the 4.94 AR price (B&M? YMMV), otherwise this deal is dead, and never was alive.

Thanks for the headsup on the 10 off 50. This makes it a pretty nice deal.
AFAIK it's a liteon since it has smartburn.

I think buslink can be liteon or can be others too. Only way to tell is to look on the box.

Thanks! I was too late for last week's OM CD-RW clearance.

This will be great. I don't mind waiting
