Luke warm.
The Circuit City regular price on this TV is $220.
And it's not close to flat.

I saw the add and ran into town to buy one (I haven?t had a tv for 2 years now)
I walked away disappointed, but still a little excited, I found the Panasonic HDTV wide screen that I wanted, and it was only $1500.

Interestingly, at Amazon.com, this TV the Apex AT2702 is described as a 27" Flat Square CRT Television.

So, this is now a tricky problem we have, determining whether the product is flat or not.
Why would you call something that is not flat, "flat." If the TV is flat I want one.
If I believe what Amazon says about the TV, well then give me one.

WHY THE CRAP!

This reminds me of Bill Clinton wanting to define what "is" is. Now the question is: what "flat" is.

Only in America : )

No, it's not flat, just regular. I admit i did a double-take when looking at it at Amazon.com but it's definitly the regular one. Wonder if they'll upgrade you to flat though if you buy it and bring in a printout:). Either way I don't like the idea of an Apex TV, I got my eye on a nice Panasonic but I can't reveal it to yall until I buy it cause I don't want you guys buying it from under me :D.

If you look at this 360-degree-view thing at CircuitCity.com you can see that this TV is not flat. Too bad. :(

Flat square and flat screen are two different things. Flat square tube just refers to the design, less curviture, but it's still there. Flat screens are well...flat.

My only comparason to this problem is when you tell someone that your computer monitor is 'flat-screen.' Most people now-a-days thik flat-screen means a thing LCD.

All these stinking technicalities!!!

Honestly, do you believe that there may be a reason for these close resemblences?! Sounds like a marketing plan to manipulate people into making an ill informed purchase. Well, I'd give you my credit card number if you were a valid business selling something a flat screen TV. But the reality is that it truly may be nothing what you expected. Because of the trouble of returns, marketers are betting that the consumer would just stick with the crap they received.

Okay, I realize nobody will read my line of crap, but this market we are living in is can only be compared to minnows in shark water. If you don't know a whole lot about every product out there, you wil be deepy abused.

Is there any other televisions in this price range? I went to CC to check this tv out and it wasn't half bad.
The picture was crisp and clear. What do you guys think of the life expectancy of this thing?

my friend bought this tv at circuitcity the other day. it isnt flat but i dont think the curve is too bad considering the $200 price. it just has your basic picture tuning settings and other general features and thats pretty much it. I was playing madden 2003 against him tonight on it and it seems great. of course im no uber video junkie and i probably wouldnt know what looks "good" or not but no problems after 1 day!

I am sorry, but I have to ask this. Are you color blind? Every time I go to Circuit City, I see that Apex sitting on the shelf next to all the other 27" and 25" TVs and I think..."why are the colors so bright and saturated? why do the seem smeared, and where is true black?? Why the hell are those people looking at getting it?????"

The TV is very bad for the money. Spend the extra 60 bucks and the JVC 27", or another $100 to get a JVC with a 3-line digital comb filter (instead of a 2-line).

To top it off, APEX IS MONO!!!

Just my $.02
