UPDATE 2: Back to their orignal prices. Downgraded to Warm.

UPDATE: Outpost is now offering the standard edition for $34.88 and LE for $38.88. Upgraded to HOT.

IGN gave it a 9.9/10. Not bad. Chalk up another one for Bioware.

Jade Empire

JE: Limited Edition

Major benefits of the LE are the additional character and fighting style. Figure it might be worth a couple extra bucks.

I ordered it even though I won't have time to play it for over a month. I could wait for another sale later on, but eh. 😛

I hope this isn't the start of a trend (getting the full game at an inflated price under the guise of 'Limted Edition')

What trend? You mean like Halo 2 special edition, world of warcraft collectors and all those other ones?

You get extra stuff, andtheres still the regular version if you don't want the extra stuff.

this game looks sweet. anyone know when it's going to make it over to the PS2?

I'm fairly certain they aren't. Just wait for xbox to drop to $99. Should happen at E3. Then ebgames will sell refurbished ones for 79 or 89...

Don't worry you can give it to me.

It actually can't, as-is. Jade Empire uses a modified Unreal engine that has shaders. The PS2 can't do shaders except in sorta fake way in CPU, thus making it too slow to actually play on the PS2. They would have to modify the game not to support the extra rendering features to port it to the PS2.

damn, that sucks...

then how about a PC version? i just dropped $500 on a PSTwo and games, i don't want to spend anymore money on a console anytime soon.

Then you should have been smarter and bought an Xbox. 😛 I find myself using the Xbox much more than my PS2 or GC.

PS2 really has a godawful graphics engine. The Dreamcast is more powerful, no joke. It's actually sad that such a piece of crud console gets so many good games to this day.

Damn...how to get that without the wife noticing. 😉 (I'm on a buying moratorium to appease her after building a HTPC).
