Warm: 802.11b adpaters at Walmart $23

Walmart had Blitzz brand 802.11b wireless adapters on clearance for $23. It looked like there was other "Blitzz" branded stuff (keyboards and mice) but I wasn't paying too much attention. Picked up a USB 802.11b adpater and figured what the heck, I need something for a HTPC and I cant spare the PCI slot on my mATX board.

I thought it would be an ugle installation being a brand I never have heard of. But installed on my laptop and threw it in the cabnient that the HTPC will be going into and it works great. I get a perfect 11mbs connection.

USB version comes with CD and 4' USB extension cable. The adapater itself is the size of a USB memory key with a flip up antenna.

Wrote this lil diddy on the laptop connected via this USB adapter.

At the Omaha super center at 680 and the street north of Fort (can't remember)

EDIT**--Works as good as my Orinco Gold mini-pci that is integrated on my laptop.

Good deal but one warning... I got one of those Blitzz pcmcia adatpers last year and their drivers are not that good. If you don't mind working past the problems then give it a try, if not then well...

I just bought some tonight while at Wally World. I paid $15 each. Bought the USB/PCMCIA/PCI. Figured WTH only $15. I will post reviews later.

i had bought the last PCMCIA card at my local walmart for $15. It works fine for me under win2k.

went looking today, my local store (Pottstown, PA) had NONE.. i dont think they even carried them at one point
