I saw this while browsing Dell's site, I figured it may be a warm deal. I don't think this is a repost, but if it is, I'm sorry.

Looks like they have 15% off of the entire networking, power, and storage sections, plus free shipping until 2/20. This may just be in the small business section, as I haven't checked the other.

Figured maybe this would be useful. Something that I just found that might be nice is:

With those stats, it's not much faster than my plextor 24x drive. A full cd takes less than 4 minutes to burn. Heck, my 12x plextor burns a full CD in less than 7 minutes with some taking barely over 6 mins. 40x drives don't seem to be the speed deamons 40x sounds like.
 
Arrrrgh! I had just placed an order for a dual-speed hub and 4-port KVM two hours ago!

Will try to get a price adjustment. :frown:

Got my 40x12x40 Plextor installed last night with Nero 5.5.7.2. The Kingston Hypermedia 16x rated blanks consistently burned at 20x. If anyone has any better ways to get this burn faster, please post. Otherwise, the advise is to stay with your good old 24x for now.

I don't think so. I've had the plextor 12x...a full cd took just shy of 7 mins. These drives should burn a full CD easily under half that time. I have a 24x drive now (full CD in less than 4 mins), and unless the price drops a tad more, or I break down in the shivers to get the fastest thing out there, I won't be upgrading until the DVD-R drives come down in price. This is awefully tempting...if only I needed another CDR drive now.
