****This deal is in store only now****

Office Max has a 15" Mitsubishi LCD for $330 - 50 rebate and free one Business
Day Shipping. Search for item number 20347509. Also according to the Weekly specials, it should drop down to $300 after IR and then another $50 with the mail-in. Add in a 50 off of 250 or 50 off of 275 coupon and you are looking at a $200 plus taxes DVI monitor.

You can find specs on this page.

Thanks for the tip about the coupon Guardian.

You know you don't have to be so rude. This monitor is about to be a really good deal. There is a $50 off $250 coupon flying around out there and if you check the specials section you'll see that there is a preview for $30 IR. That would bring the price down to $200AR. Pretty decent for a LCD with DVI.

Heh, I edited my post to add in the coupon which I didn't know about at first and added in the IR which is listed in the weekly instore specials section. Other than that I didn't change what I typed.

Maybe it's the Save someone else some reading. comment that dman has. It's a bit rude depending on how you take the comment, but that wouldn't really bother me either way.

*edit* BTW, who would I be rude to in the very first post? Myself? ;) :D

"Rood, tude, whatever the firetruckever"
Here's my take:

dman posted:
"25ms response time

RagingGuardian misinterpreted dman's post as dumping on the specs like in " heres the specs and they're bad so this should save anyone from looking any further at this deal."

When he should of took it as:

"I've listed the important specs so people dont have to go through the trouble of the reading them from the link Desturel gave"

Ok I admit i misinterpreted his comment. I thought he meant the specs weren't worth the price. Anyway I did the deal and mine came out to $222 after MIR. Not a bad price considering I was about to buy an NEC 17" CRT that cost ~$80.

Did you do the deal in-store? Or on the phone? Did you have any problem using the coupon?
And if you did do the deal in-store... And you have the monitor... How do you like it?
I am definantly giving this some serious thought.
However, I can't really find any reviews of this monitor so I am sorta weary...

If Mitsubishi has put their name on this, it means that it is probably very good.
All of my Mitsubishi electronic stuff has been faultless ? some of it for over ten years.:D
IMHO, this is an excellent post worthy of an ATer.

I'm getting the monitor on tuesday so I'll relay how it is then. I couldn't find any reviews but I figured if it's NEC/Mitsubishi then it has to be a good monitor. I was about to get the KDS RAD-5 but the specs look better than the RAD-5

I got one too, thanks for the deal.

I have a quick question:

Will I have any problem with my KVM switch? I have a IOGEAR 2 port KVM switch.

Thanks.

I have a 15" Samsung 152N 25ms response time. For me it is just as good as my Planar 17" 16ms response time. I can't tell any difference at all. I don't play the latest, fastest games. These both play all the games I do have, and all the DVD's I watch equally well. I'd say the video card has more to do with your results. But thats just me. I think that the response time is going to be exploited by some manufacturers. I have seen crap monitors already boasting the 16ms response times. Not much use if the monitors look like $hit.

And who the f wants higher resolutions than 1024x768 on a 15"!??

Oh... my expensive Planar came up with 3 dead pixels in a week..... my cheap $200 Samsung still looks new, after several months.

I really wish I could use the $50 off $250 in store...
But I'm still gonna have to give some serious thought to this.
I would love to get 2 of them and get rid of my old 21"

Since I've come home from college for the summer, I've been looking for some good lcd deals. I finalyl jumped on this one...looks like a great monitor, at a great price. Since it has VGA & DVI, should I be able to plug the DVI into my pc, and then my Dreamcast (through the vga adapter) into the vga port, and easily switch between the two? That'd just be awesome.

It'll also be great to try a new setup. I've been experimenting with dual monitors with my main 17" CRT at 1280*1024, then an old 14" from the basement at 640*480 for fun...doesn't help too much, so it'll be nice to see how the LCD will fit into everything. If the prices are right this summer, maybe I'll move to dual lcd's, but their performance in gaming is still questionable (especially if you don't want to spend too much).

Call up NEC/Mitsubishi and they'll send you a 2 meter DVI cable from their parts department for about $16 including tax and free shipping. Best price i've seen. Newegg has a 3 meter one for $23 i believe. Make sure you get the right cable as there are several DVI standards out there. My NEC 1760NX uses DVI-D. Btw Nec and Mitsubishi are the same company now if u didnt know that already.
