Just did the deal with my PS for a PS2. Only had 9 games because one of my games was on the "restricted" list (WWF Warzone) and did have some extra accesories (mem cards). My total came out to $99 and change after tax. By the way, all of the games did NOT have manuals and they did not deduct anything. Gave me $30 for the console and $7 for the games. They even gave me tax back!

EDIT: Just wanted to add that this seems to be a pretty good deal since Funcoland only wanted to give me $60 for the same stuff.

Hey Jzero,
whats the "Cisco liquid crack thread"?? in your signature about. I'm Cisco, now who is liquid crack?

anyway thanks for the post!

Lucky me, i found not 9 not 11 but exactly 10 games in the storage, 9 of them have manuals.
But do they want the playstation with the manual and box too?

Guys, are you high?? A new DC sells for $49.95, and 85% of all its games are $9.99 and under new (most are around $4.99 and lower, $1.99 in some places around here). Even if you bought a preowned DC from EB for around $40-$35 and 10 of the cheapest games, $1.99 in my area, $19.90 total, you'd still save yourself around $50....

Hey guys...can you use this deal to get $100 off of a Gamecube? If you can, then I think I'm gonna get my voucher tomorrow, and get a GCN when it drops to $150 on Tuesday...that would be SWEET 😀

LMK...

Maninthebox, I guess all EBs are different because I also traded in WWF Warzone, and they didn't say anything. I thought for sure that the old Maddens would be rejected, but they took everything.

Now, I'm just trying to get Snake past the multitudes of Marines listening to a speech! 🙂

Imdmn04, what they wanted from me was the PS itself, the AV cord, one controller, and the power cable. No box or manual necessary. I just brought the PS in a Wallyworld bag and everything was cool!

Mist3rMischi3f, any next gen system is eligible. I almost picked up the Cube, but I figure it'll drop down in price again around Christmas when I really want it for Metroid and Zelda.

I just did this deal today. As someone already mentioned, they gave tax back!
I got 114 bucks off with some accesories, walked out with the ps2 and a genuine sony memory card for 131 dollars with tax included.

EXCELLENT. So when you get this credit, I take it you don't have to use it right then and there-if that's the case, then $50 dollar GameCube, HERE I COME!!! 🙂

Do they absolutely require your PSX games to have a manual? Or could I just bring some of them in "generic cases"? I have like 5 games with no book or regular box, and they're sitting in regular CD jewel cases...

I'm not certain on this, but I think you have to buy the system right then. However, they told me that if the price drops within 14 days, you can come back and get the price difference. HOWEVER, the refund will be in store credit, not back on your credit card.

As for the manual question, I guess it depends on the clerk. I thought about bringing games with no manual, but the guy on the phone specifically said that they need the manual. Call your EB and find out. They may just take off some of the trade-in value, or they may not let you do it at all. I traded in a mix of PSX, DC, and N64 games. All had the manuals, but the guy didn't even look in the N64 Madden box.

Good luck!

This is one hell of a hot deal!

Ironic, I was just in the market to buy a PS2 as well. 😀 (And wanted to trade in my PSX). The only drawback for me in this case is that I have to part with some of my games...I spent the last few years playing these games and now I have to part with them. Kinda makes your heart feel down.

Anyone know when this trade-in deal will end?

Thanks for the help...I'm going to call an EB or two tomorrow, and ask about this deal. I don't wanna loaf on it so they end the thing on Tues when the GCN (may) drop, so I hope I don't have to use the credit right there...

One more thing...if you mix and match the games you're trading, does the valure suffer? Like, if I traded any number of PSX, DC, and N64 games equaling 10 along with a PSX, will I get $100? LMK...

A lot of the specifics of this deal (And of trade-ins and returns at EBs in general) are left at the store manager's discretion. If you don't like the deal you get at one EB, try another; there is usually another relatively near-by.

No, your value shouldn't suffer. If you look at my reciept, you can see where they deducted 20 for my PS, and 8.00 for each game. Normally those games I traded in are worth only .50 to 2.00, but he did a price adjustment. Like Terry said, each EB might be different, so you should call before you go in.

I just did this deal today at my EB here in Lancaster, PA. I turned in a Nintendo 64 that came with an extra "Atomic purple" controller ---got it for something like $40 new from whatshotnow.com (remember THEM?)--- along with 10 games no one should admit to owning (Pokemon Snap, Razor Scooter racer, Tomb Raider Revelation...need I go on) and they gave me an extra $5 credit for the second controller. Got a new XBox for under a hundred. Cool.

Heh...decided I'd bump this, just to thank everyone in the thread...got me a GCN yesterday for $50 by pulling this bad boy off 😀

Find out if it's still a go in your area, b/c this is a VERY sweet deal!

I would hold of trading the games. I sold 7 n64 games for about 95 bux! Killer Instinct and 007 went for bout 11 dollars, The World is Not Enough went for 15, Tetris went for 20, Super Mario Brother Pary went for 30!!! These were games only! No manual or box. Also each controllers goes for about 9 dollars. This was all of course on ebay. I had to 2 consoles. If u trade in ur consoles at EB w/ one joystick and powercord its 20 dollars!

You can only Trade PS1/Dreamcast/N64 for the $100 off . It last untill June 30. 🙂 Can someone post the list of games that they will not take ? Thanks

I went back last night and ditched my old PS for a GameCube. Also had them swap out the GameCube controller (with it's woefully short cord) for the new GameCube wireless controller for an extra $20. Doesn't have vibration effects but I'm so fed up with the tangle of controller cords (PS2+Xbox+N64+DC, and now GameCube), I'l learn to live without it.
