I think this is a warm deal. It might help those who are paying more. A $3.95 monthly fee applies, this is AT&T's $.07 one rate plus program. Anyone have anything warmer or hotter to help out people on long distance and local toll calls?

I pay $.05/ min out of state, 24/7, no monthly fee (as long as you pay on a CC 1.50 charge for payment by check).

In state varies. For me $.08 (Ga.), but some states $.05. Highest I've seen in state was $.10.

I hate monthly fees. Sometimes my longdistance bill is less than the fees carriers are charging.

4.9 cents (or is it 4.5) billed by credit card, 6 second increments, from Powernet Global. And I've seen cheaper around here, actually, but not enough to make it worth switching from what has been problem-free service.

If you look around there are prepaid phone cards for $.045/min or less. There is no monthly fee or any service charge of any kind. I got mine at Sam's Club but there are other stores with them too.

I use them and they are awesome. I'd really recommend them, not only for long distance at $.029 cents a minute, but they truly don't screw you in any way that I know of. They use extremely short billing intervals (in seconds), you can add money to your account and view your charges over the internet, and when you dial into their network with their 800 number, it recognized your phone number so you don't need to enter your account number or pswd, and it tells you how much money you have left in your account (if you want it to.)

The ONLY way it may not work for you is if you don't use your $/minutes within 6 months, in that case you lose it. So to avoid that, I just pay for $10 at a time.

The connection quality is very good, although its not perfect...thats internet telephony for you...but its extremely close to land lines on most calls.

I went with AT&T's Unlimited plan. $20/mo. for unlimited calls to other AT&T customers. If they are not AT&T then it's the same $0.07/minute.

I found this to be the best plan since the vast majority of calls are to my...*cough*...mom. Sicne she also has AT&T my bills went from $70/mo. to $20/mo plus I still get the $0.07.

Good for family/girlfriend, etc. but if you don't have that it won't win you anything.

OneSuite.com totally rocks! I've been with them for almost a year now. They're cool because you can set up different PIN numbers for the same account. You can also go online and view a history of all of the calls that you've made thru them.
Cheap rates for long distance and International Calls. I use them to call Hong Kong at least once a week.

Here's the real deal. Go to Sam's club, get an at&t prepaid calling card. .034 per minute. Never a difficulty, recharge by cc over the phone. Just dial 800 and pin. Been using it for a couple years now. Talk all you want for a few $10 spots a month.

Happy shopping

20 bucks at 3.4 cents/min is 588 minutes. 20 bucks at 2.9 cents/min is 689 minutes. Extra 101 minutes for using Onesuite. I've been with them for nearly a year and they're the best deal in town. You get to see your phone usage (# called, for how long and when), for the month, plus use the zip dial and you never have to enter your PIN again.
Phone cards are more expensive plus, without the above mentioned features.

I pay 5 cents a minute all the time, from http://www.kissld.com , been with them for 6 mos now, i'll never go back to MCI, AT&T or Sprint ever again. My last bill i used almost 600 minutes for May and was $21. There is a $3/month service fee, but thats it.

I've been using Isterra for a few months.

.037/minute to anywhere, 6 second increments, and credit card pay. $2.00/mo fee unless you pay online. They haven't screwed me yet. My bills have basically dropped by half.

All AT&T / MCI / Sprint plans suck for land line since you can't get out of that stupid connection fee's they want to charge you every 2-3 months. Even if you don't call on it they still charge you a universal connection fee. I forget what it is some govermnet bull sh!t... The worst is paying 30 bucks a month for att... WHY???? for 10 bucks more you can just get a cell phone for 6000 minutes and free weekends!!! I am sure there are even better plans but, I'd rather have a cell then pay 30 bucks a month for crappy ATT service... OK... One more...

"I have been a OneSuite.com customer for about a month or two now... can't beat em! $0.029/min! "beat that!"

yeah, but if your parents live in hawaii!!! Or alaska you get to pay a whopping .10 cent's a min! THAT SUCKS!!! :) I almost signed up for it but figure I better read the connection chart first before I commit to that...

Ok, I guess it's back to my Sprint Phone card from CostCO!!! Never had any problems with them and it's only 3.9 cents a min from ANY where in the USA! Including alaska or hawaii... I would say sams club is a good deal too...

Thought I'd state the facts...

Me too. 3.47 cents/minute and you can use it from any phone (not locked to one home number) And it seems like they drop the per minute price every time I recharge it. When I first got it it was 5 or 6-cents/min or so and now it's under 3.5 Sweet.

use extremely short billing intervals (in seconds)

OneSuite bills by minute, not seconds.

Both Costco and Sam's Club now have phone cards that have a per-minute rate of less than 3.5 cents. Costco has switched from Sprint (formerly 4.3 cents/minute) to MCI.
These will provide more reliable (and higher voice quality) service than OneSuite. Both of them can be recharged (keeping the same rate) over the phone with a credit card.

I mainly use OneSuite for ZipDial convenience and their international rates, as international calling isn't all that cheap (from what I remember) on those warehouse club phone cards. And unlike BigZoo, OneSuite almost always has acceptable voice quality. I've gotten busy signals with OneSuite, but they don't happen that often. Plus, BigZoo has that lame $0.75 monthly fee whether you use the service or not.

There is a 55 cent surcharge for using any of these phone cards at a pay phone.

You can come and go as you wish with Zoneld. By the way, they will pay the $5 per line switch fee. The information is on the FAQ page,a s I recall. You just copy the phone bill and mail it to them.

I've used OneSuite.com for 5 or 6 months now. At 2.9 cents a minute in/out-of-state toll calls, it's a great deal. No strings attached, no tricks, so far. I dropped my out-of-state carrier, also. We don't make many toll calls, but we're STILL saving about $20 per month (over Verizon local, AT&T out-of-state).

Found a small drawback to having no out-of-state carrier. I am not smart enough (or it can't be done?) to make an out of state FAX call, if it's not a 1-800 FAX number. I can't figure a way to get around having to dial the OneSuite.com 1-800-access, and then a Toll call to FAX.

Anyhow, i'm 100% happy with OneSuite.com 2.9 cent/minute service!

No monthly fee of any type, incidentally!
