I bought warhammer a few months ago and played about 7 different classes to about level 10-12. The scenarios were fun (except that Nordernwatch spawned about 10 times more often than the other two available to me). The quests were just like every other MMORPG but the PQs while fun, and yielding excellent loot were almost entirely deserted on 3 different Med/High population servers. Getting a group together to do them was neigh impossible. I canceled my subscription but after playing through FF4, 5, 6 and tactics I'm ready for a non-FF game. Is WAR better at higher levels/more populated now? or am I better off finding a good NW2 campaign?

I played Beta and watched the game evolve. From the beginning I was seriously hoping for something to break the monotony that is WoW and give me something new to experience for a year or two.. unfortunately when it went live and it still felt like beta, I got the same letdown I got from AoC and went back to EQ1/Eve. =/

Recently canceled my WAR account. I enjoyed it a lot actually... but it ended up getting monotonous. I got to a point where I was either grinding PQs, grinding scenarios, or trying to plow through quests which were yielding less and less total experience as time went on. OpenRVR was awesome, but my schedule differs too much from that of my guilds' which often leaves me playing catchup and not always able to participate in big RvR events.

2 against and 1 who liked it until the level cap. I think it says something about me that I have played a number of MMOs and never reached the level cap in any of them. I just prefer single player RPGs with a well defined plot. I'll have to reinstall TFC to get my PKing kicks I guess.

Got bored with it, gave up on it. Seems like the majority is running scenerios. The Open RVR is fun when its going on, which is a few times a week. But for the most part, log in, scenerios for 30 min, log out.

This is the ONLY game where I have enjoyed PvP, simply because it's not a game of "he who has no life and can raid daily for 16 hours a day wins". Mind you, MMO's tend to get stale with me after I hit level cap and roll a few new characters - and I haven't gotten there yet. But I actually enjoy PvP in Warhammer, whereas I've always hated it in other games and avoided it because I could never compete. In WAR, I get peeved sometimes when I get rolled in two or three hits, but then I come back and eat the entire enemy army for lunch. It all evens out. That and I don't feel like I'm locked into getting to the level cap before I even have a chance in PvP.

Since you like it, I'm going to go ahead and assume it sucks.

Combined with your other posts in this thread, your attitude is unacceptable. One week off, and please don't stalk any other posters when you return. Let the small things to, you'll live longer.

Yeah fighting other players was a blast in Warhammer, but OPEN PvP was too...canned...or something. I can't quite put my finger on it.

Quit the game a few months ago, there just wasn't enough for me to do.

I agree with what SunnyD says, pvp is easily accessible, not very gear dependent at all, oRvR is nice, it's hard to get insta gibbed unless being focus fired upon.

You can safely ignore CKent's comment. He thinks I hold a grudge against him for a sarcastic comment I made in his "When is WotLK going to be in the Battlechest" thread. He's since taken it personally, apparently.

I had exactly the same experience. It was fun while it lasted but felt more and more like grinding towards the end. My biggest qualm with the game is the lack of a good end-game and variety of things to do at the end-game. Personally I disliked open RvR because it felt like a big protracted zerg-fest without any real strategy other than "move as a group" mentality. Scenarios tended to be more strategic but it was tiresome to play Serpents Passage for the 100th time in a row. I also felt that the rock-paper-scissor aspect was overdone.

I plan on cancelling in the next few days, as my 3-month sub will end in a few weeks. Was a lot of fun in the first month, they just took too long to address some of the major problems with balance/bugs/content/performance. There's definitely lots they've done right but now they're battling population issues which makes the impact of the changes they've made less significant. I haven't bothered logging on much in the last month or two since the big 1.06 and 1.1 changes but that's due mostly to the holidays and the tons of other games that have been released recently on the PC. I may try out LOTRO again, as the PVP there is actually a lot of fun as well.

I agree at times it starts to become a grind, when this happens i just go play on of my alts, leveling only becomes a chore in t4, currently itis however the only mmorpg that holds my interest until/if Darkfall ever get's released.

/Open Beta in Darfall was starts Jan 15th
//Release date is still Jan 22nd

Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset or anything. I've just realized you're an idiot and it's safe to assume you're wrong, always.

I haven't really felt any population issues personally. It's nice to not stumble over people in the world every 30 seconds when you're questing. There's really been no problems with oRvR either, there's always something happening somewhere. I don't think I'm on a terribly populated server either. Sure there's sometimes a lul in the scenario queue, but that just lets me get quests done. Other times I'm in scenarios for 50 minutes out of every hour. It "seems" to me at least where I am there's always something to do.

It sounds like you have a secret admirer, SunnyD. Immature boys tend to insult the girls that they secretly have a crush on in order to try to look "cool" for their friends. This is true even if you're not a girl (and perhaps more so). :)

Cute. Nah, I'm just shitting in all his threads. He started it, but I've got a lot more shit :)

Tsk. Tsk. Time off. See your first post here for details.

Ah, well seems as if you're still grinding, getting new gear and new abilities, so there's still some fun in it for you. Once you hit 40 and cap out and rely almost exclusively on oRVR for action things start to slow down. There's Scenarios sure, but I more or less had my fill of them as one of the first groups of 40s on Destro waiting for Order to catch up. There's dungeons and such too, but the progression/wards and loot rules/dependencies are so poorly implemented I just decided against putting time into it early on.

I don't find it much of a grind though - definitely not like most other MMO's I've played have been. Plus, I've never been much of a PvP player (I just don't have the 'Woo! I'm a spaz!' in me), so I'm thinking... hoping at least... if endgame doesn't mean grinding out raids with 12 year old kiddies daily so I can get that next piece of equipment just so I can compete in RvR, WAR is one step ahead of the game already. But I agree somewhat in any event. All games get boring after a while.

Went back to WoW where I know people and familiar w/ the system. Not much of a PvP player, more of a PvE and scavenger.

I'm still having fun with it to be honest which is weird. I have a 25 black orc and another lvl 10 caster. Its not too much of a grind at the higher levels cause your playing against other people so in a sense if you find playing DOD or CS a grind then yes this is a grind.

WAR is TF2 with less content than WoW was at launch. Regret ever installing it and I like PVP.

I've played casually since launch (actually, before that... started in May) and I've had fun the vast majority of the time. I'm still only lvl34 though.

I think changes have been made to stop the same scenario from popping. Just today I played something like 4 different T4 scenarios.

The game is pretty population sensitive, all the really fun stuff requires the right number of players to be there. It's easy to find stuff to do now that I'm on a high pop server though.

I'll take this over WoW raids any day.

I started playing this again since Blackguard and kotbs have been released and it really seems like they've fixed a ton of the bugs that were problems during release. The fact that skills are much more responsive now makes the game mroe fun to play overall, but especially in pvp. No longer do I get frustrated trying to use morale skills or other skills only to be told that they're not ready yet when they obviously are. They've also jacked up the xp in quests so it makes them more worthwhile and its no longer a scenario hopping fest like it used to be. With the addition of influence for ORvR it seems like way more people do ORvR now than they used to. I actually got into warbands and fought in T1 and T1 ORvR, when the game first came out those zones were totally dead, there was never any action there. The thing I like most about this game is I can quest and do a scenario now and then, and if I get bored questing it's pretty easy to find a warband nowadays and do some orvr. Anyway if anyone enjoyed the game when it first came out but was really annoyed by all the bugs and unbalance and such id suggest giving it another try the game is in much better shape now, it's nice to see they really took fixing problems with the game seriously.
