hey I stopped playing warhammer online around 1-2 months ago, im wondering if anything has been done on the server lag, and low fps issues? or is it just a game engine thing?

You shouldnt have had bad performance with the rig in your sig. I have a similar machine (E8400, 8GB, 4850) and didnt have a problem. What resolution are you running?

I run at 1600X1200 though I dont remember what AA level I used. it ran pretty smooth for me. Does the system lag for about a half second? Do you have Nvidia's IDE drivers installed?

Huh? I am using a a qx9450 clocked at 3.6Ghz, 4 GB of ram at 1066, velociraptor, and 4850 at 700/1100. My OS is Vista 64 U.

I was running the game a 1920x1200 with forced 4x AA edge detect so 12x sampling turned on. I could even be recording with FRAPS during a huge keep siege (200+ players) and STILL get 20-30 FPS. I have no clue what was your slow down problem. If you really want, when I get off work, I can find a link to the HQ video I made of a keep siege a long time back. it's something like 1.2GB in XVid encode, but I also have links to 6 separate smaller chunks.

This above all else perhaps the dev team has been working on, particularly with large-scale Keep/Fortress battles with TONS of players. I was too low level to be in the huge battles before, but they seem decent to me. Guildies report a markedly better playing experience in such battles.

EDIT: Look through here for patch notes, lots of stuff related to performance:

sorry, what is this and how will it effect the performance

You have an Nvidia chipset on your Motherboard. Nvidia chipset drivers have IDE controller drivers. In the past I had an issue with Nforce 3 + 6800GT when the IDE drivers were installed. It caused a noticeable stutter.

You'll most likely need to OC or improve your storage subsystem to reduce that stutter and improve performance in WAR. Its incredibly CPU intensive and faster CPUs with more cores certainly shine. Also with any MMO, faster storage also helps as textures and data are loaded.

Those 650i are a PITA to OC quads with. Not sure what EVGA has in the BIOS, but there is a specific setting, VTT % on the ones I had that will help you OC stably. Its the FSB termination voltage and something most boards need tweaked.

As others said, ORVR performance has improved dramatically since 1.06 and 1.1. If you OC and/or upgrade to a faster HDD you should see very good performance with that rig.

Relatively mild compared to what happened to my nForce3 Ultra. When I installed the IDE drivers with my Samsung Spinpoint F1, it never booted.

I run 64-bit XP. There was a fairly severe memory leak early on that would eventually bring things to a halt. As far as I could tell, it only affected 64-bit systems and, if my experience is any indication, it has been fixed.

Went for WoW after WOTLK came out. Loved the pvp in WH but just wasn't enough guys questing. Most of the people wanted to be left alone or had other parties. In WoW, once I ran an instance with someone, I could msg him/her again and we'd go instancing. Plus the LFG system works really well.
