Odd. I preordered WAR at bestbuy for 10 dollars. Got a open beta code. I guess you can get it free now on fileplanet. Thats a crock of sh|t

It is not free, you have to be a subscriber (7$ or so a month, or like me, free if you have comcast)

correct :

http://www.comcast.net/gameinvasion/setup/

it says for the 8mbps subscribers...but I think my little brother only has 6 and he got it.

LMK if that works for ya.

ooo...$7.00 a month is a deal breaker!!! /smirk

In this day and age - if you're not willing to at least invest a little bit of $$$ to either buy the game [most games cost around $50.00 anyhow] or subscribe to a download service - you might as well go back to your bit-torrent method of gaming... 😛

The reason they DONT do like WoW did, is because the WoW beta sucked massively. If you played the preview weekend, it was smooth as silk. Loading the servers with tens of thousands of extra players on the servers just makes lag to shit. Do you think it helps sales to have 10 second loot or fight lag, or constant crashes? From preview weekend performance, I know what I'm buying. It still will stress the servers, just not open the floodgates bad.

That was only during the stress test.... Hence why they said "stress test."

umm...doesn't that $10 go towards the purchase of the game?

if you cancel the order, don't you get that money back?

Yeah I honestly don't know what these people's problem is they have no idea what a pre-order is I guess. Not only that but its not free from fileplanet you have to be a subscriber there. So gizbug had it backwards, preordering gets you the open beta for free, fileplanet you have to pay for it.

There is no free open beta. You can get in through either Fileplanet or by pre ordering the game.
I have the game preordered, but I am not in the open beta (only got into the preview weekend afaik), must be a collectors edition only thing.

i pre-ordered from amazon over the weekend and got nothign so far. luckily Fileplanet is doing the open beta so I got in on that. If I like the open beta, I'll keep the game on pre-order.

Check your media library, noobcakes. That's where your beta key resides.

mythic's site said that amazon would email me my code. nothing about going to a media library. the order acknowledgment didn't say anything either.

anyway, can open beta people download patches yet or is that even disabled until the 7th?

You're welcome.

i odn't spend every day at the site. this was under the pre-order page they have.

** Amazon.com, EAStore.com, Direct2Drive and GameStop.com pre-order customers will receive codes via email. Offer does not include the UFS Battle Deck.

maybe they should edit that since its one of their main pages.

looks like i may have received 2 keys?

Apology accepted.

If you have preordered Warhammer Online from Amazon.com, we wanted to let you know that your codes will not be mailed to you. Instead, you can find them in your Media Library in your Amazon.com account. Here's how to access your codes:

Select "Your Account" from the upper-right corner of the Amazon.com screen.

Select "View Your Media Library" from the right column in the "Where's my stuff" section near the top of the page.

Log in if necessary.

When the Media Library page appears, at the top of the screen you will see several tabs, one of which is called "Downloads". Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the word Downloads.

Select Bonus Items.

You should see all the codes you have access to here.
