This is one of those games I might play for free for the big booms, but otherwise won't be particularly attracted to. Preaching against the choir, I know, but the background is a joke that did better than expected and got taken way, way too seriously (at least in the states). The tabletop game is unbalanced and fiddly. Maybe the devs will do a good job with their MMO iteration of it. One can hope....

I would much rather see an online version of Warmachine rather than 40K. But there is a reason that established IPs are hot now. Though that may have more to do with lack of imagination....at least in Hollywood.
 
MMO or MMORPG? They don't seem to be calling it a MMORPG.

Is this going to be like Battlefield, or a boring tedious grindfest like most MMORPGs? Who wants to play in an environment where a level 1 character dies with one or two bullets, but a level hundred character can be shot in the face 1000 times with a tank and still be fine. Unless you like the grind. I prefer fair competitive games that you don't have to dedicate your life to.

So you think this would be better if it were a Battlefield Clone as opposed to a WoW clone?

Orks have no allegiance to anyone and fight everything and anyone who gets in their way, including themselves.

Imperium of Man (SM's and IG) fight to kill xeno scum and heretics

Chaos (Chaos Space Marines and Cultists) fight to kill the non-believers and Imperialist lap dogs of the false emperor. Oh and they also hate xeno scum.


You can throw in the Eldar as a 4th expansion class if it pleases the eldar fanboys. These guys are enemies of Chaos, Orkz and the IoM,

In 40K everyone has a reason to commit mass genocide against everyone else so finding a reason wouldn't be hard even with the current choices (Ork, Chaos, IoM) offered by Relic.

It all depends on the PvP. Lets hope they don't confine it to lame battlegrounds for the kids and put in some real pvp.

Or have every class use the same skills, just named differently to make it seem different.
