I was intrigued by this game and got it on Steam for $23.
Imagine a cardboard war game such as the Russian Campaign or Squad Leader on a computer in RTS. Most of you probably don't know what a cardboard wargame is but us old grognards do.

Expect a steep learning curve, the manual is virtually useless. I suppose one could say it's similar in gameplay to SoaSE and does in fact require micro-management as opposed to something like Shogun2 where you get a chance to think between moves and then more or less get your troops organized before a battle.

I only have about 20 hrs in the game in SP only but it feels like an FPS trying to operate multiple characters all at once and on a very large battlefield at that. It requires almost constant attention to details such as tank movement, squad movement, helicopters, artillery, mortars etc.
while at the same time maintaining awareness of the 'Big Picture', i.e. the mission. I'd like to go MP as the AI seems to spam units and overwhelm a beginner like me. A lot more hours in the game are required just to get the mechanics of the game in perspective.

To me, it's worth the $23 I spent just to see how a cardboard war game can be ported to a computer and I think Eugen has done a damn good job of it so far.

Just my thoughts from a 63 yr old grognard...
