WarFTP vs. Windows Networking

I have never been able to get my WarFTP daemon upload files as fast as native Windows networking, even when two computers are connected by a cross-over cable. I have tried adding multiple threads, and adjusting other WarFTP settings but can't seem to get it to work.

I do know that other FTP daemon's are faster, e.g. my brother's mac running OS X.

Has anyone had similar experiences with WarFTP, but solved the problem??
