Wards is closing its doors

I doubt they will have any immediate blowout sales. They will have tiny sales I'm sure for at least a month or two. I read that they expect to have all the stores shut down by late 1st quarter/early 2nd quarter. That is 3 months away.

I wish they would have a nice big sale because I'd love to buy a refridgerator, washer, dryer, etc for when we buy a house this summer 🙂

Keep us informed if they are in fact having any super sales.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

I saw a couple of news stories on this tonight, but no mention of it on their site as of yet. Not a Wards shopper, but it would be nice to get a few deals out of this. 😛

ill let everyone know what they have... feel free to put any good deals in this thread

lets help wards go out of business a little quicker... as americans, its our duty

thanks, likewise madmacks.

i'd expect wards will slowly drop prices and possibly randomly throw in good deals to try and get as much money as possible. and the really good stuff will probably be sold in bulk to competitors or the highest bidder. it's too big a company to close down overnight.

i haven't had experience closing a company, but most places are still selling the cybergenie 2.4 ghz phone system (msrp $500) for about $400 although OD dumped it for $30. and that's a manufacturer that's been out of business since last september. slight difference retailer vs. manufacturer.

this is probably a fairly routine sale.

Really too bad,
My girlfriend is mgr. in furniture, she just found this morning, although, she had a clue since the computer would not take any backordrs). Don't expect too much, as the liquidators are scheduled to do an inventory tomowrow AM. Once they get a hold the goods, then they will "let er rip". Your Wards cards will not be usable, but other charge cards will be taken.
I will post if I get any worthy update.
