After building the world's best V-6 engine for the last seven years, Nissan engineers haven't relaxed ? their new 3.5L VQ V-6 again rewrites the definition for ?world-class.?
One more reason to look forward to the new 350Z. :)

Love the fact that the 1.8T is on there, too. And of course, the M3's firebreathing I-6. :D

werk is right, the H6 is Porsche's flat-6 "Boxer" engine. Three cylinders lie flat on either side of the crankshaft. Subaru is the only other company that uses this configuration IIRC.

TuffGuy, why would you get banned? It's a free world?. Why would anyone care what you think about their car or engine for that matter? Especially given the intelligent comments you seem to be able to come up with :D

"mountain carving" <snicker>

Love my 3L Nissan VQ. Buttery smooth, with lots of power. Although just like a lot of things the car is only has powerful as it's weakest link. In this case the 4spd slush box in my Maxima. It would not be in their "Top 10" list, if they had one for transmissions.

I drove the new maxima, was pretty disappointed, the shifter felt like you were ramming your foot into a wet bucket. Not sure what the new six speed is like but the five speed gearbox was awful.

Because you replied to something that didnt exist as I said re-reply, probably should have just told you to edit it but the old trigger finger was to fast. I really want to hear the follow up to "mountain carving". Enlighten us on how torque is the sole performance aspect of a car, please I'm dying to hear it.

TuffGuy :). Yeah the shifter is very nice, although I have heard a few S owners have been getting a 1st to 2nd grind. Haven't had it myself, thankfully.

What do you drive btw?

Heya Adul, nope haven't tried it. Don't much care for the design, but I hear they are pretty darn nice cars. Looking forward to seeing the new Z.

did i ever say that it was the SOLE performance aspect of the car? nope. if i want a high-revving engine i'll get a motorcycle. i enjoy driving on mountains. have you ever tried to do that in a honda? you'll find that it's hard to accelerate up/around slopes. i love torque; i enjoy being slammed into my seat off the line.

like a wise man once said, "torque will break your neck but horsepower wins races." :)

Sure I have done some up hill driving don't have any issues at all. Ever driven a Type S? Shift at 7500-8k no problems with torque. Torque gets you off the line after that things change. To me there is alot more to a car than slamming a body into a seat. There is handling, shifting, appearance, general overall fun. Having driven everything in the S's price range it appealed to me the most as it's handling and shifter was unmatched from what I looked at. As for performance I have a blast, and really the bottom line is that's what it's about having fun, and being safe.

I looked at the WRX too, very nice, but here they are 5-6k more than the Type S, and from what I drove it I didn't see 5-6k as worth it. If it were the same cost, I think it's a killer car. A few buks in mods and it's even better
