Just thought if the parent company over sees majority if not all financial decisions (including research) they would be given credit. I mean w/o the money to research, neither of these engines would have been created.

Ford owns Mazda.
Mercedes owns Daimler Chrysler which owns Dodge.

Id assume if Ford and mercedes ever crashed, then mazda and dodge would disappear too? (this wouldnt happen since government would save em)

RX 8 american muscle? so then an SVO Mustang is American Muscle too? Incase you dont know they were mid 80s mustangs with a Turbo 4 cylinder from the factory.

It works. :)

Xterra, Frontier, or Pathfinder?

Bah, you don't need running boards on that thing :D

Comes with the trim. And they are nice in the winter with all the snow and slush when you are wearing dress pants. A lot easier to keep your pant legs from rubbing across the door sills.

Wheres the Ls8(it is ls8 right?) that powers the Z06

and I dont see what makes the Mustang engine so great. It was sourced form a F-150

However the Audi 2L is a nice engine!

Nice truck

Call me a whaaaaambulance, because I think Honda deserves to be on that list. Their new 3.5L i-VTEC V6 with Variable Cylinder Management is a pretty sweet engine.

I'm also surprised hybrid powerplants like Honda's V6 hybrid or Toyota's synergy drive didn't make the list...though I don't know what their selection criteria are.

Uhhh... I believe it was just giving examples of what the engines were tested out of . For example, the Hemi is found in the Charger R/T, but also the 300C and Magnum R/T, along with the Ram.

They couldn't just test the engine by itself.

DaimlerChrysler AG:5.7L Hemi Magnum OHV V-8 (Dodge Charger R/T)

Toyota Motor Corp.: 3.5L DOHC V-6 (Lexus IS 350)

Um, make that 4 German engines, 3 American, and 3 Japanese. DaimlerChrysler AG is a German company. Chrysler is no longer one of the Big Three. Then again, you could also argue that Mazda is Ford/American. That would make 4 German, 4 American, 2 Japanese. Wait. Nissan is owned by Renault. So it's really 4 German, 4 American, 1 Japanese, 1 French.

The VQ is a Japanese engineered/designed engine.
