I was told that HL2 has a multiplayer built in it, is that tru? ANd if so how is it?

HL2 comes with Couterstrike: Source, but there is some Vanilla DM built into the game, but it seems to not be complete. I've already seen HL2 DM mods out there, albeit not veru good. Good maps take some time, but its on the way. :)

I cheated and brought over the other turret from the other side of the prison. Then i blocked the pathways thru the middle and thru the recharging room with desks, barrels and crates. Then i climb up to another hallway by stacking the rest of the crates. The four turrets own the heck out of the guards. Then when they were all knocked down I came over and just finished them off myself from a elevated position.

The glass! You forgot about the glass!

I don't know, maybe FarCry and Doom3 had that glass shattering effect, but I havn't played any of those.

I was never able to defend that room, a grenade would always knock over a few turrets and I would get rushed before I could set them back up. After about 2 hours of failures I finally did THIS:

Description

:) Thats what I did too. I just finished it right now. This is the best game I have ever played. And I'm sure will play for a while to come. I can't see quake 4 touching this. Absolutely magnificent man. Awesome. The end in the citadel was perfect, the graphics were incredible. This game is just so much more than anything else you can play. 50 stars out of a possible 5

Wow, steep price for a game-related paperback.

Interesting nontheless, will definately reveal more about the story. I think I still have some gift money left.

"But along with those physics comes along the gravity gun! The Gravity gun is, in my opinion, the single most innovative feature in the game. We've never been able to manipulate the environment to this degree, and also save the day with it. I had so much fan grabbing grenades being thrown at me, mid air, and lobbing them back. What about those explosive barrels? Wow, just.....wow."

Great review Warcrow! I have to agree that the gravity gun ROCKS. It was just too coll not to try and use it instead of other weapons. A+ to whomever thought this one up!

I'm only about halfway through at the moment but thats only beause i limit my playing hours per day - don't want to finish it too fast ya know?
( sort of how I'm reading DT VII- I want to get to the end but........)

This game kicks arse over D3! After playing D3 I was really disappointed. I suppose after HL1 the story line became as important to me as the shoot em up factor.

After starting the first level ih HL2 I knew I wasn't going to be dissapointed this time.

Kudos to valve and everyone who worked on this. The bar has been raised once again.

dont like how you took those screenies with bad graphics options (no aa/af it looks like, low res). makes the graphics lookcrap

(which they are not on a decent graphics card)!

Actually, thats the way I played the game from begging to end. Why would I change the GFX options just for the Screenshots? I guess I just preffer a smooth framerate over a studdering beautiful mess. ;)

I'm playing on a 6800Ultra, but my CPU (2800XP) just cant feed it 0's and 1's fast enough to crunch and spit out.

I'm happy with the settings, and by no means did the gfx "look like crap".

the pictures get re-sized when you view them through ie ? didn't you know that ? download the file itself and view it in photoshop. My screens look bad too, but they are at 16x12 4xaa, 8xaf everything high. Its just ie re-sizing things that makes them look bad.

I need to show you my setup, it worked after i figured out the best way for the difficulty. I was hunkered down in the ammo box room with the turrets on a crossfire config. My roomates were watching me play it and were in awe of the situation. One of them had to leave while i was in the jail, she said it was like watching a scary movie. A headcrab would jump and she would scream, Haha.

That was my favorite part of the game. I got up on that balcony with the three turrets and took the buggers out from up top. It was a pain setting up the boxes, AND than carrying up the turrets, but it was totally cool figuring that out. Thats part of what made this game so good, situations like that with more than one solution.
