WarCraft3 Poll - All Cheese, a quasi-tonic, or all substance?

I'd like to see what the opinions are on WarCraft3. I'll withold mine so as to not skew the results of the poll. Just curious what people think about the game so far.

<< No opinion; I just want to see the results! >>

I dunno yet. I've not been interested since I finished the WC2 expansion Through The Portal.

well since the only just benagn realy balancing it in the last patch with is only a few days old.... and that the game will change ALOT before it's released, nobody can actually have a good opinion about the game... yet.

<poof!>

Back to the top. Half the pollsters have no opinion. Surprising that so many are not in the beta as easy as it was to get into it.

It's great but I still like the 2D, sci-fi stuff starcraft has to offer. But since I played that game to death, WC3 is the game of choice for now 🙂 Hopefully I don't overplay it so much that when I buy it, it'll still be fun 😛 Heck, I even bought $52 worth of BB GC's for $40 for it 😀

I have only watched it played, but it looked pretty nice and the game play looked good. The races do need to be more balanced, but not big problems that I saw

I dunno it lacks something I was hoping for.

WHenever I've died in wc3 it's always been to swarm of something...

A much smaller swarm than in wc2 or sc...but still a swarm relatively speaking.

I was hoping it would have more micromanagement to it...but Id on't see it.

If you don't see potential micromanagment in the game, then you are doing something wrong. most of the microing is with your heroes. you could micro your troops too, but your time is more well spent microing your hero in battles.

I don't see much strategy in the game. It's build fast, level up fast, and micromanagement attack. It's impossible to win if you're outnumbered (2v1) unless they really suck.

to me, it doesnt have the same zing that starcraft had. i still regard starcraft as a much better made game.. =\

also.. warcraft 3 takes forever and ever before you get the good stuff. by the time you get a level 10 hero, your game would already be over. a little too slow paced.. the 90 limit is rather small... and it takes forever to destroy a building.. i think im too used to SCBW =\

Potential yes. But in practice it doesn't seem to work out that way. I just get swarmed by chimeras all the time. I was hoping to get more spell casting and stuff like that.
You know have some heroes in there casting spells while a couple of troops attack. But it doesn't seem to work that way...I dunno. But whenver I've gotten my ass kicked its always by a few blizzard like spells then a swarm of bad guys...

I prefer starcraft and even warcraft 2. But we'll see what happens when the final is out, it is still a beta after all.

And I certainly think it has potential to be the best RTS yet.

i noticed the RPG elements in the game and liked those a lot. I cannot think of many issues besides balance issues. i still think resource aquistion should be done away with totally. i'd rather have supply chains so i could focus on war.

Without resource aquisition though one MAJOR facet of the strategy would go out the window: controlling the resources. A lot of what happens in the game is determined by who has more money. Being able to scout, take, defend, and finally drain a gold source is a key part to winning. Afterall once the gold is gone it's gone so you have potential to "starve" out your enemies, hitting them with well placed attacks to take out small numbers of their troops but loose little to none of your troops (like polymorph on fliers or hero abilities to get rid of units). Eventually they're out of cash and can't build anymore troops at which time you just hit them hard with your forces (if the single player game is ANYTHING like War2 or StarCraft then this strategy comes into play even more in single player).
