Just a warning abut dragon.ca - they charge u in $Canadian, which they make perfectly clear - so for the DVD case it is $CAN 69.95. It seems that their conversion rate is a bit generous, as they claimed that it would cost approximately $US 42.95 for their DVD case version. However, I checked a couple places online, and they all came out about $5 US higher than what dragon.ca was claiming, so you are talking about $US 48 for it. For that price you may as well buy it from gogamer.com, as they ship FedEx 2Day, and with TODAY'S conversion rate, it all comes out to be the same.

Now, conversion rates change from moment to moment, so you could end up saving a significant amount of money by going with dragon.ca, just don't count on it.

For more information, or to doublecheck me, look at XE.com, OANDA.com, X-Rates.com or any other currency conversion site on the net.

Todd
BTW, I am not affiliated at all with gogamer, just think that they have the hottest price on War3

In this only in the May Issue of PC Gamer? And when does it expire? Finally, I'm guessing it is 20% off one game. Is this right? If so, Best Buy would be the place to buy WC3 because of the $10 Gift Card and free action figure

I believe the 20% one expired yesterday. There are $5 off coupons in Gamepro July 2002 p.29 and EGM August 2002 p113, but it says no copies.

WC3 is nothing more than a much-enhanced version of WC2. However, it is incredibly addictive, just as WC2 and SC were. I've played all the Blizzard games since Blackthorne (their first game, before the original Warcraft) and none of their games has ever disappointed me. I doubt that WC3 will disappoint.

I have played the beta and concluded that its gameplay is much like that of WC2. However, there are a few twists to make it interesting. The four races are completely different. Also, more RPG elements have been added (items, skills, etc.). Still, for $60, I'd have to think twice about it. I think the decision to fork out $60 for Diablo2 was a tad easier than paying $60 for WC3. Add to that the fact that I have, more or less, switched over to PS2 gaming (gotta love those $20-a-pop bargain PS2 games), I'd definitely think twice about buying WC3. Hrmm...maybe if I could get the Special Edition for $60....mmmm....that cinematic DVD...mmrmmmm.....

other than it being warcraft.. war2 and war3 can't even be compared in terms of gameplay. war3 is a totally new animal and makes war2 look like crap in all aspects.. ESPECIALLY gameplay (which is a very important aspect of a game). you should go play war2 again and come back here to let us know if you still think the gameplay is similar. being that they are both RTS game, you build and fight.. but that can be said about all RTS like AOE or RE or CC.. etc.

First of all, you need to know that a company like Blizzard will not spend roughly 2 years developing a game that could simply be referred to as a "much-enhanced" version of an existing game. I take back my comment on that. However, while playing the beta, I couldn't help but think: hrmm...this plays a lot like WC2. A lot of the things from WC2 are in WC3 and a lot of the commands are the same. I guess I have to play it some more to realize the added depths of all the new RPG elements....hrmm....but damn, $60! Nah, I'm opting for a Logitech Freedom Optial mouse+keyboard combo instead. Don't really have a lot of time for PC games anymore.
