I just picked up War 3 Collector's Edition, and the (goldish/bronzish?) collector's tin of RTCW @ E.B. on the way home from school. Both previously owned (and appropriately slightly marked-down), but still in mint condition.
I was originally satisfied just finding the RTCW tin--now something to pair with and opposite the Q3 tin hehe--for $19.95, not having purchased the game before, but then the huge C.E. of War 3 caught my eye just as I was leaving the store. Now I had no idea how much this thing normally costs, and I didn't think I was gonna purchase it just yet, so I simply asked the nice cashier if the price of $64.95 (written in marker) was sale price and how many boxes they had in back. Turns out that not only was the price was actually lower ($54.95), but they also had a recently-returned copy of the game complete w/EVERYTHING and in just-like-new shape... for $45. Needless to say, the urge to impulse-buy was too strong for this gamer/collector.
Nice, ominous gothic-like tunes on the soundtrack, nothing that detracts from the atmosphere of the game and certainly plays well in the background. I haven't had a glance at the "coffee-table" sketch-book yet, but I expect it to be a nice addition to my collection of game memorabilia in the very least. The DVD box is still wrapped, but I expect to be "wowed" anyway, since this is the very first DVD I will play on my recently acquired, first-ever DVD playing device--yeah, my VCR-owning self is behind the times. :frown:
On that note, anyone know what the big envelope contains or is supposed to contain? Call me lazy, I haven't had a gander at it, just noticed it was open when the cashier rifled through the C.E. box at my wishes.
Oh, and in regards to purchasing RTCW, thanks in advance for the warm welcome to November of last year.
