Personally, I got bored of it after a few weeks playing it in beta.

A lot of poeple who dont like it dont know how to play it (the game, not the user map settings etc). It is a rather big change away from Starcraft or Warcraft II in gameplay, you just have to watch the demos of really good people in order to grasp how to play it. This site has some good replays of professional tournaments (look on the news page for links to the replays).

But there will always be people who dont like change (notably called the whiners). There always has been and always will be when newer revisions of games comes along. Another RTS game to look forward to is Age of Mythology.

This man knows what he's talking about. AOM is going to kick some serious ass.

I bought it retail, installed it, found the cheats online, went through it in 2 hours and now the CD is sitting and collecting dust.

The storyline is quite interesting. I noticed more strategy was invovled, but eh, I'm more into action.

I don't like it cuz I suck at it - and that's only in single player...

FWIW- I really like WC3, even though I reeeeeeeally suck at it. I think the relatively steep learning curve (esp for those who are relatively new to RTS') turns people off. The computer whups my butt in skirmish matches every time unless I gang up on it with someone.

What's the point of buying a game if you're just going to use the cheats to get through it? It's not really a game anymore, more like a keyboard/mouse tutorial.

you're kinda late in the realization that wc3 is overrated and overhyped. the pace of wc3 is very much like wc2, which was good in its day. but after being spoiled by the fast pace of SC/BW for the past 3-4 yrs, wc3 is just boringgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg. it's the first blizzard game i refuse to buy until it hits the 99 cent bargain bin.

I played up to the Undead campaign and stopped. Haven't played since. The game is just OK for me.

I doubt it. I played the alpha and was totally bored with it, even though I had played Age of Kings 2/Conquerors for well over a year. WC3 is a much more fun game.
