Warcraft 3 AI

GEEZUS, anybody else think the AI in War3 is a bit TOO tough? Granted, I just got the game, but sheesh, I had to check out the replay before I knew why I was being beaten so badly. Then I changed my build order, but it was still very difficult to win.

In most games the AI is pathetically easy to beat, StarCraft's AI was quite a bit tougher than most others at the time(such as Red Alert, TA, etc), which actually made it fun to play against.

Of course, I dont have the game yet, so Im hoping it's not uber hard, but you said you eventually won, so obviously it's not impossible

the games AI is pretty hard at first, but it gets easy after awhile. I found that in custom mode, the AI is kinda of sad because after u rush their base at the start and kill all their warriors and just stand near their base, they don't prove much of a challenge even if you left all their peasants alone to harvesting gold and lumber and all their buildings are still standing. If I let the computer setup a strong group at the start I find myself loading games like crazy. The computers heros lvl up really fast and I hate how they always run away when their heros are about to die and you think you've won and go back to your camp to check on things and a few secs later go back to find your group and their dead. If I didn't know better, I think my cpu was cheating! do that again and the HEATSINK will come off!

Oh, I'm only on the 3rd level. I was playing custom games. It's so obvious the computer cheats. heh, they always know where the expansions are.

I updated to version 1.01 and tried the game again, but the computer was still hard in hard mode on the campaign but then i typed "whosyourdaddy" and then all my trouble went away!

In custom games, if you can survive the first wave of attacks, then you'll probably end up winning. The computer doesn't really know how to expand too well. And if there are trees around a gold mine, it can't access the gold.

The annoying thing in custom that I found is that when I play with night elf (which I usually do) I can't access the gold mines surrounded by trees or even attack my enemy b/c of the trees (the wisps don't kill teh trees, they are one with the trees ) Anyway when I play with human you can chop em down, or launch mortars at em... but I haven't found anything to take down the trees with the night elves... anyone have a method?

OH YEAH! EAT THE TREES! Thx dude I forgot about that ability.

the little cars with arrows can be used to shoot down trees for the night elves much faster, they also takedown undead buildings quite fast as well.
