battle.net has turned into a bunch of crap especially with warcraft 3. i log on to battle.net hoping to get some games going, but everybody that uses battle.net only wants to play those damn rpg maps and those stupid bgh maps. like $$$megahunters$$$, moremoremoneyhere, etc. those maps are lame. also, the arranged games arent that helpful either cause it takes forever and most of the time, it'll just timeout anyway.

If you dont like it then dont play it.

There are a lot of people who play 1v1 or random team. There are a lot of people who play arranged games. Unless you are an ungodly high level or want to play 4v4, then it will take some time to get a game going. I play on 2v2 arranged and random team arranged (2v2 or 3v3) and I can usually get a game started in approx 2-3 min of click search. Personally I like this system better than any other RTS system, with the level ratings and game finding. It tries to match you to some random person of equal skill.

As for BGH maps... what do you expect, newbies love to cower in their bases and enjoy "big battles." Good thing they dont count towards your record like they did in Starcraft. Your reccord is actually meaningful in war3. There are some interesting User Map Settings maps, but only if you play them occasionally.

This is the dumbest advice ever. So if you go to McDonald's and order your food and pay for it. Then realize somebody has spit in your burger and you don't like it. Then according to you, you wouldn't complain. You just wouldn't like it and wouldn't eat it.

You're complaining about the 'people' (can we call them that?) who play on battle.net. You're not talking about the actual software that you purchased. Sure the disconnect thing is a little annoying, but your gripe is mainly about the users you have to interact with. If you don't like them, then play single player, or wait the 5 minutes it takes to find a team/random game.

werd...can't we just complain or gripe about something, especially if we paid for it without someone saying if you dont like blah dont do/play/action verb blah? its like someone complaing about the potholes in their area and someone replying then don't drive. I just got on battle.net myself yesterday and there are some pretty damn rude people on there...i was playing 4 on 4...the team we were up against were a "clan"...as they were basically demolishing us they decided it was cool to talk trash and cuss at us... wouldn't it be nice to be able to see a picture of who your playing against...i think most trash talkers would shut the hell up.

Bnet is provided as a free service for multiplayer matching. If you don't like it go to someother place that provides multiplayer matching for games such as Kali.

BTW I bet you're one of those lame whining newbies.

Heh.

I'm sorry, but this is not blizzard's fault. They cannot control every individual who logs on battle.net and screen them for politeness, whether they like BGH maps, or by skill. Especially in an environment where there are tens of thousands of users that log on. Your analogy to the pot holes/mcdonalds is flawed because there is something inherently wrong with the product you paid for. If war3 crashes randomly then I'd be angry at blizzard, but not because other people act stupid on a free match-making service.

As for 4v4... Arranged games mean that your teammates know you and therefore will have some kind of pre-planned strategy. Thats why in my experience, arranged games people have on average, more skill than random team players. You have to also keep in mind that whenever you use teh "Play Game" or "Arranged Game" button, you are participating on battle.net Ladder. In fairness, blizzard decided to do the match making on battle.net instead of letting the player matchmake (too many "staged games"). There is the "Use map settings" mode where you can see who you play against.

I see a lot of people who whine about how hard some people are. Well here's a hint. There's a "save replay" button at the end of every game. You can save it and watch what other people do and learn from your own mistakes. It's a whole lot better than most other RTS games where you get overwhelmed from the middle of nowhere and have no clue as to why you lost.

Battle.net's come a long way since it's introduction with Diablo and Starcraft.

Some people are never satisfied I suppose.

If War3 is anything like SC, then there will always be the BGH players and the anti-BGH players who play LT 24/7. Just take the time to find a channel that has anti-BGH players who are willing to set up a 1v1 w/ obs or 2v2 games on non-money maps.

The only reason it seems like that is that all the people who play normal games use the plya game button, not the custom game. People who play rpg's or hero arena or other bulsh|t maps like bgh variants and starcraft unit maps have to use custom game.

There's still often a 2 minute wait or so when using 'play game' which is odd, considering there should be a large amound of people playing Warcraft 3 online. When I was playing the "unofficial" beta at Warforge (I still bought the game - looks like playing an early beta doesn't encourage piracy after all), you'd click 'play game' and find a game instantly, almost every time.

It isn't a free service...believe me...you paid for it!

Also, the Play option sucks peepee!

Why can't I choose 3v3v3 or 3v3v3v3 or 2v2v2 or 2v2v2v2 or 2v2v2v2v2!!!

Bottom line, 2 team games are usually an early rush, one team loses the upperhand....GAME OVER!

Since Bnet never gives equal teams, and you end up playing with strangers against 3 friends who have planned coordinated attacks this is a crock!!!

The only way to avoid all the BS of 2 team games is to mix it up with 3 or more team games....Then imbalances in teams can be compensated for as well as the chaos factor...Plus people get to actually Tech up a little!!!

While I have bought every Blizzard game I am not going to be some suck up kiss A_S and say rah rah....The released Diablo II full of bugs (especially for LAN play where it crapped out non-stop), and WCIII was overdelayed! Don't be a brainless zealot....you pay money and believe me they make a sweet profit...They should listen to us gamers who keep buying their games.....why don't I have 3 or more team options for the PLAY button damn it!!!

Ok, so you complain that D2 was full of bugs, and then that WC3 was overdelayed (probably because they were fixing bugs).

Lemme give you a list:
- early release date
- buggy
- cheaper

Choose 2 out of the 3.

Actually, WC3 battle.net is MUCH better than SC or WC2. My biggest gripe with b.net (and no I've got nothing against anyone) is that SC was mostly frequented by Korean players, so not only could I not read or understand the game names, my partners could never understand what I was saying nor me them. I can only see "me no english" so many times before I get frustrated.

Now that there are different "realm" servers its easier to group with someone who at least speaks the same language as me. Although I have already been grouped with several asian players on random 2vs2 games that can't speak a word of english. (Why they insist on playing on the East Coast server on a TEAM game when they can't communicate with their partner is beyond me. Baffling. But for the most part it's WAY better than SC.

I think you're exaggerating the when you say "2 or more minutes to find a game". I've been playing since the retail release and I never have to wait more than 20 seconds or so to find a game, whether 1vs1, 2vs2 random, or 2vs2 / 3vs3 prearranged. The prearranged teams are the greatest thing blizzard could have done. It keeps the losers from dropping or leaving once they see you don't have a perfect record or are grouped with friends. And it makes finding a game on an actual blizzard NON BGH-crap-map WAAAAY easier than it ever was before.

Also, you're ignoring the best part of the game, the trash talking idiots. Once they open up with their first volley, it's "open season on the loser" time for me and my partner. I don't start trash talking but, damn, it's fun to make them sound like total fools by talking sense to their nonsense.

By the way OJEDAWC, it is physically impossible to "end up playing with strangers against 3 friends who have planned coordinated attacks" when you chose "random" teams. That's why it's called "random" Take the lead and get your strangers to "coordinate" their attacks and you'll be surprised how easily you'll crush those who don't. Stop your whining. Even better, write blizzard an email and ask them to implement 2vs2vs2vs2vs2, or whatever else you want, and if enough people want it, they might implement it! OMG imagine that.

One last thing, I think the age level of the people who always play BGH maps is a LOT lower than those of us who play more strategy based maps, which is why you're seeing all the idiotic name calling and such when you play on those style maps. Just a thought.
