War Won't start until around April 1

My opinion. It would make sense for the military to go in on April 1 - New Moon

Harder to see aircraft, etc...

We have thousands of troops in the DMZ at this moment. It is unlikely that we would have them sit there for two weeks. Aside from the logistics, it would be extremely hard on morale.

There's no way the Bush administration would set such a specific deadline, have Iraq reject it, and then twiddle their thumbs for a while. They HAVE to do something once the deadline comes around or they will lose all credibility.

they aint gonna wait that long. you want some moonlight for night vision, but you don't need a full moon.

Thats nice, its your opinion. But opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they usually stink...

...yours is no different.

hahah so true. US troops are currently moving toward the iraqi border, this conflict is starting today or tomorrow.

They've been sitting there for over 90 days already.

It would be stupid to send anything except Cruise Missles under Moonlight where they can easily be seen.
Might launch UMV's for a week or so then make tactical moves with Night Vision Equipment during the transition to New Moon.

Nothing of consequence should happen until CCC ( C3 ) Command Control Communications are taken down.
That should happen just before manned missions strike, followed by ground advances.
Probably little or no resistance until reaching Bagdad or Tirik. Then hell should break loose.

Uh, we dont need a new moon to bomb.

Long range cruise missles launched from our ships will do most of the bombings. Most of our planes wont be bombing at the start, some will though.

Also remember the plan is to have land, air, and sea attack at the same time.

At least his opinion wasn't derogatory. What the hell kind of response was that wnied?

I agree actually, I want and think it will happen tonight, but from a strategic point, it would make sense to wait like another week. He never did say when he would give the orders. And yes, I think the troops waiting around for another week is dumb. I hope something happens tonight!

US Marines and UK Troops have already been in firefights while securing landing sites in Iraq for an amphibious assault.

uh, it doesn't matter if they can see them, anti aircraft stuff uses radar, not visual targetting

and it doesn't matter if they can see missiles or not , the missile is going to get them

Ummmm????

Please post a link to that info. As far as I know no UN personel are in Iraq in large enough forces to secure beach heads.

I read they expect to drop 3000 bombs within the first 48 hours, hopefully to shock the Iraqis into submission.

War has started

British and American troops were involved in fierce fighting near Iraq's main port today as the war to topple Saddam Hussein began

The fighting reported at Basra was believed to involve British special forces and US marines in an operation to prepare landing sites for amphibious craft during an invasion
