Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has ordered two additional aircraft carriers to deploy to the Persian Gulf region in preparation for possible war with Iraq, which defense officials told NBC News on Tuesday could begin with a full-scale invasion within a month.

On Monday, Pentagon officials said 37,000 Army troops were on standby. It was the largest ground force identified so far among the 125,000 U.S. troops included in deployment orders Rumsfeld has signed since Christmas Eve. Eventually, the size of the U.S. force arrayed against Iraq could reach 250,000.

Why are the sending all these troops when they could have dropped me over Baghdad and let me talk to Saddam. Jimmy Carter has nothing on me.

Please just do us all a favor and shoot the SOB! ;)

We should offer a reward of a billion dollars to anyone who puts a bullet through Saddam's head. It would be a lot cheaper than invading.

Isn't it exciting. Lots of people are going to die. I'm so prowd of how excited I am, I just had to share. I hope they have pictures of blood and we don't bomb too many of our own guys or the British. I always feel so sorry for the guy that has to tell the next of kin.

I dont think war would be a good idea. This feeling is for several reasons. I am a student of international politics at UCLA, so I feel I have a LITTLE bit of an understanding of all this (however, not that much.. just a little).

Anyways, I think that the US simply doesnt have a justification in spending billions and killing thousands just to get rid of Saddam. Yes, Saddam is a jerk. No, it doesnt warrant a war.

If you study it, North Korea and Iran are MUCH greater threats.

We should have a poll or something; I'm sure that we could all think of three or so members who, if airdropped over baghdad, could "persuade" saddam to go running for the hills inside a week (with cries of "your GHEY" "I pwnz you!" and the dreaded "all your base..." ringing in his ears! ;)
