War of The Worlds thread. Sticky to avoid repost?

Just got back from seeing it. It was actually pretty good. The parts that creeped me out were the that loud sound the Tripods made and when they vaporized people how their clothes fluttered around. Will most certainly get on DVD. Ok, your thoughts!!!

Where's the repost? I went back thru 2 pages, didn't see anything.

How it ended was kind of weak though. It was a good means of ending, was just too quick...

The large annoying foghorns did nothing for me.

Overall, it was technically well done (as in well shot, good editing, sound, effects, etc.), but the story and writing were weak, and the ending was just plain LAME. Spielberg had a good, creepy theme with the "grind us up, spray us out" deal, but it got cut way too short. Overall, the movie felt disjointed, never felt like it really got moving.

Ever hear of search?

I just saw it... pretty sweet if you asked me. It might just have been the theater I saw it in, but did anyone else notice that the non "action" scenes seemed to have the volume turned down quite a bit.

I took this as an atempt to get the audience to identify with the charachters who were no dobut nearly going deaf from the afformentioned fog horns.

I thought it was annoying at first, but I got used to it...
