Well...yeah it was sorta I guess....there was a movie out in like 1958 I think.
 
Yes girl ruins the movie, as does Tom's struggle with his queer son. I also hated the fact that they cut out the big army fight scene.

Its been a long time since I read it, but I don't remember a freakin' kid in the book. The kids also weren't in the original movie. I think they were Spielberg inspirations.

A great movie, but Signs freaked me out more...

That movie had a lot of plot holes, but in the way the movie flowed was very unusual. At first, it seems like the movie is about a pastor that has fallen way from God, but out of nowhere we get unexpected aliens showing up, and then in the end we find out that the whole point of the movie is everything happens for a reason.

Pretty cool how it all tied together. It made me overlook the fact that aliens that could be killed by water invaded a planet that is 3/4 water.
