Wanting to get a motorcycle but..

According to This I'm likely to speed excessivly and more prone to kill myself.
Should I get a motorcycle or stick with my slower safer truck?

ninja edit

You can thank the people who got cute and started naming names for this getting locked.

Dude.

Even if you don't speed excessively, you're more likely to be killed on a motorcycle than in a vehicle with actual doors. Think of all the idiots that you have to deal with on the roads today, then imagine yourself on something that offers basically zero protection from impacts other than tossing you onto the pavement or other close hard obstacles such as light poles, fire hydrants (ouch), or whatever happens to catch you when you go flying off the bike.

You should get one even though they are worse than SUV's cus you get a free pass to talk shit about them every day. That's why people get them.

Isn't it a bit excessive? I mean geez, you ride around on it all day by yourself when you have that extra seat behind you that doesn't even get used. What a waste!

Well I plan on having my GF sit on the back seat, and my children can rid on the gas tank and handle bars. I guess I should get some saddle bags so I can bring the dogs with us too. I'm so glad motorcycles have such an abundant array of places to put people when I need to move my family around. Can I geta trailer hitch for a Hayabusa?

What you need is a trike. Problem solved.

Yes get a motorcycle they offer maximus safety, just ask anyone.

You couldn't be content to let this keep skirting the rule against member callouts, could you.

If, you feel an impending motorcycle accident is about to occur, stick your head up your arse and complain!

So based on what I'm reading here, the OP should buy a Busa and ride it around for a few months before taking the safety course or investing in a helmet. That way he's not out any money if he doesn't like it.

I still have the helmet I wore when I rode the short yellow bus in grade school. that should be sufficent.

Especially for protecting the family jules

There's always someone who can't leave well enough alone. In this thread, there were two. Watch the callouts, OK?

Why are you even asking this? Only morans drive trucks and SUVs. Get a motorcycle ASAP.

And here's a safety tip -- for every truck you see, be sure to drive in the left lane next to them, and stay right in their blind spot. A++.

I don't know man. The rollover rate is too high. You can just let go of one and they fall over by themselves.

don't forget to talk shit on an internet forum when you get into work, get back from lunch, or when you get home.

no one yet has pointed out that a motorcycle can safely avoid an accident because they can go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds... though you never need to do it faster than 4 secs. which i might add is faster than 95% of whats on the road!

2.9 seconds in fact.

Edit: Depending on who you ask, 2.5 to 3.5

Personally I would buy a motorcycle and drive around with in the bed of your truck to help balance the weight, however you do run the risk of rolling over 2 vehicles simultaneously, possible a 3rd if you have a truck in your blind spot as well.

just make sure if you dont already have over 10k miles of experience driving with a motorcycle in the bed of ur truck that you dont get over a 250cc. You dont want your first time with a bike in ur truck to be with a literbike... let me tell ya!
