Wanted: program to silently take and save a picture from a webcam on a daily basis

I had an idea that I would like the webcam on my laptop to take a picture of me each day.

I would want the picture to be taken automatically and silently saved to a folder on the computer. I would want the picture to be taken while I am actively using the laptop. It would be sufficient to take one picture each day.

Is there a program that would do this for me? It's been a long time since the world was obsessed with Jennicam. But I realize that I've practically never used the webcam on my laptop.

Suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

If you know the command line statement to initiate taking the photo then it would be simple matter to do what you want via a batch file.

Thank you very much, Gooberlx2. I've installed Dorgem as per the instructions on that page. Configured it the way I want so that it'll take a picture once a day when there's motion at the computer and so that the program will start and run in the background when I start my computer. Now I'll wait a few days and make sure that it works (it works when I set the capture interval to something lower such as one second).

Much appreciated! Die, Privacy, Die! : )

Betting he isnt really wanting pics of himself, rather someone else without their knowledge/consent.

In Canada that would arguably be a criminal offense in addition to having tort liability attach to it.

Alas, the experiment failed as the program just isn't taking the pictures and when I press the button to manually take a shot more often than not Dorgem hangs.
