Want your X1800XT (PE) to run cooler at idle? Use this bios.

I would not recommend just offering bioses out to people like this, nor anyone downloading it. Not all X1800s are the same. Not all of them will be able to run at clocks that low or at voltages that low.
 
I understand that his heart is in the right place. He is without a doubt trying to help. I was just making sure people knew that the risks may not be as obvious as they would be at first glance.
 
most x1800xt 512mb cards should be able to do this. the low voltage seems to be a pcb limit on the vreg circuitry, not a limit of the core itself.

btw, my card is below average and is only capable of about 710/810 artifact free using the sapphire xtpe bios, most can do better.
 
pls someone try this BIOS out, because my x1800xt pe give me temps of idle 49C and load 67C in an accelero x2, so i think they are a little high.
 
having some 2d/3d switching issues, gonna see if the issue persists with the stock bios to rule out drivers. I could use another person in helping me diagnose it.
