I don't know what to make of this, whether it's serious or not.
Here is the dream...My parents are out of state, I go out to visit them. While I am there, we go out to dinner. As usual my dad is ready in the car while my mom double checks her hair and makeup in the bathroom mirror. She has a habit of being ready, and then running back to the mirror to do this girly fretting. My friend is there as well (this probably came from the fact she was there the last time I went)
I went in to check on my mom, who was still in front of the mirror doing eyeliner.
I decide to look at something I fixed earlier. Either a shaving nick, or a bleeding nose I clotted while getting ready. All of a sudden, it starts bleeding again. But really bad. I tried to grap a towel or something, but it starts going off, like a bad gunshot wound. I get woozy fast, I almost collapse but brace myself on the counter.
For a split second, my mom freaks out. She quickly composes herself and helps me to the ground. I go in and out of conscienceness, I keep trying to stay alive/awake. I think I mutter out that it's too late, and that I will miss my parents. This happened so fast, I don't think a phone could be found by the time I know I am screwed.
The last thing I remember is my friend trying to help. She is an EMT in life, but in the dream, I guess I bled so much...she just tried to comfort my last second or two.
Then that was it. I guess I died in my dream.
Ever since then, I have been in a funk. I get numb to stuff I usually react to at work. Like something that will normally make me laugh, or get mad at something stupid. Didn't happen Monday or today.
Everytime I think about I almost well up. Not really at me dying. But my mom witnessing it, and seeing me die without dignity, with blood everywhere.

I don't know what to feel, how to fix it. I'm sure I'll snap out of it, but in the meantime it's weird.

To dream of your own death, indicates a transitional phase in your life. You are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Alternatively, you are trying desperately to escape the demands of your daily life.

I use to have a few books on this stuff, but this is borrowed from somewhere else:

BLOOD is a symbol of losing energy and one's life force. Lying to one's Self is harmful, and would account for this symbol. I'm not saying lying on purpose...I'm talking about the kind of way we all hide the truth from ourselves because it hurts, or we don't want to admit something. However, in this case, your dream is telling you that hiding the truth from yourself is hurting you much more deeply. This is also symbolized by you crying in the dream. Notice you "turn your head away"--another symbol of not looking at the truth before you. This issue may also be affecting your son, and you may feel guilt over it, but feel "forced into" the situation. In the dream, this is an illusion. How could any nurse force you to cut your own son? You wouldn't do it. You would cut her, first!

I have been contemplating career lately. I am 29 without a serious gf and no kids, and I am starting to feel i need to fix that.

Dream interpretation is not an exact science.

Basically, you flip things around. Death while awake = bad; death in dream = good. Etc.

So, death is good because it means change.

Your mom watching means really, she didn't see anything; you wanted her to watch, but she didn't. You're mad about that? Happy? Who knows?

You're bleeding from the face - you're finally talking a lot about something important to you.

Your mom is in front of the mirror checking her eyeliner??? That's interesting! That'w what happens right before you bleed to death?? Does this remind you of anything?

Also, the line I decide to look at something I fixed earlier is massively significant. Remembering the "opposite" dream thing, that probably means it wasn't really fixed.

last thing I remember is my friend trying to help me we'll let you work on that one.

Hope everything is okay.

dammit. Give me a clue or hint.
Didn't mean to be mysterious! All I meant was, does it mean anything to you? Anything special about that friend? Did she ever try to help you? Success or failure?

Remembering that dream interpretation sometimes means the reverse of what looks obvious, has that friend gotten in your way at some point? Are your friends generally not helpful? Has some EMT or someone in the medical field been non-helpful? Or, does the medical field sound like something you'd like to do, to be helpful, but you're not sure? Lots of ways to think - does anything resonate with you?

Basically, you went back home, a long distance. You were going out to dinner, dad stayed in the car, mom went in and did her eyeliner, you looked in the mirror to check something you thought had been fixed, you spouted blood and died quickly, while your friend tried to help at the last minute.

Oh, mirrors are important in dreams too. If I remember right, they can either be something real that you are ignoring in real life - or they can be the gateway to another world, a new life. Or like TV channels, watching something different.

There's probably something important in your dad staying in the car, also. Either stability, or you/he is hiding something. Or car = driving change. Whatever.

It's interesting to look up the symbols in your dream on one of the dream dictionary's (Google). Maybe it will spark something. Maybe not.

Does this give you something to work on?

Um, it's a dream. Get over it.
