Incase you didn't already know SETI@home is a program which searches for Alien signals from blocks of radio data recorded from a radio telescope ,which you download from their server. These data blocks are fairly small ,350k odd and won't take long to download on any modem.
Once you have the data block you can then go offline.
You can set SETI to run either as just a screensaver or have it running in the background
So does anyone want to join THE search?
If you want to join the search & our team then check out my sig.
We've got many knowledgeable people in our forum section willing to help in many PC probs ,as well as SETI stuff.
We've got lots of stats ,team & individual & we also have our own Unreal Tourn server for Team members
Thanks
Doh! forgot to mention it makes for a good heat/stabilty testing program as it will max out your cpu (if nothing else 'big' is running).
It also makes for a good benchmark for a combination of cpu,chipset,L2 cache & memory performance
