If one really considers the chance of finding alien life from SETI to be almost nil, not really. You won't find any life, just a signal if you're (incredibly) lucky.

But that is NOT the point! The purpose of joining either team is just that - a team effort. In that case, BOTH RC5 and SETI are worthwhile (and fun) efforts. Just pick what appeals to YOU - I'm cracking (up).

It's not like I'm cracking for the chance at $1,000. If so, I'd buy a lot of lottery tickets. It's just cool being part of the AnandTech team (any one).

DarK SagE, those times are very long. Are you using the screen saver client? If so, make sure it's set to go to blank screen mode within 5 minutes or so. Showing the graphs can more than double your work unit times. Also, make sure you have all power saving features disabled, except it's ok to have your monitor turn off.
