Next gen game F.E.A.R. (current ETA 10/4/05) apparently taxes video hardware to an extent previously unseen.
A relatively commonplace setting, 12X9 4X8X, reduces the 6800GT, X850XTPE, and the X800Xl to an average below 30fps- something few if any titles can accomplish.
Ironically, F.E.A.R. is GITG ATI funded title and the two ATI cards benched take last and second to last place in all 4X8X benches.
If the performance in these benches holds true when the game is launched in three months, only those with 7800GTXs or high end SLI rigs will be able to play at settings currently taken for granted.
