Want to learn HTML: Best book or software?

Hey all.

A relative wants to learn how to program in HTML. He is at the newbie level. He asked me for a book or software I could recommend to help him with this.

I have no experience with this. Can anyone provide any recommendations?

You could try referring him or her to www.w3schools.com, it's what I had to use for comp sci class last year. I learned pretty early..probably 6 or 7 years ago (I was around 12) and it just took some time to remember the basics.

Notepad for the win. Don't use Frontpage or Dreamweaver if you actually want to learn something.

w3schools is awesome too. Start off at Lycos's Webmonkey.
