Want to learn guitar .. where to start?

So yeah .. my roomie has an acoustic and I'm interested in learning to play .. can anyone suggest somewhere to start? A website perhaps?

Grab a guitar and start playing. That's the only thing you can do.

Get Guitar Pro 4 and find some song tabs, then start playing.
I've been doing that for three months now and I can play a few songs.

first learn the basic chords chordfind.com is a good one.

then pick an easy song you'd like to play, GnR - Patience for example.

Master the song. Rinse, repeat.

Yup. Though I'd say learning chords sooner rather than later.

Get basic rhythm patterns down first...always keep your hands moving constantly.

your library should have books you can use.

True, but it's a good idea to get the basics first; chords, picking, and scales, latter two especially if you'd like to pick up an electric at some point.
