I just bought a Gainward Geforce 3 Ti 500 open boxed from a local computer store. I installed it in one of my comps with a 220w powersupply. When the computer booted up, the bios was fine, and Windows Xp loaded. It was at 640x480 and 8bit color. WinXp notified me of the new hardware and I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers. It seemed fine so far.
However...The problem occured when I decided to change my color from 8bit to 32bit. The screen flickered, and then it stayed black. I tried resetting and still the screen is dead black. I did a clean install again and this time, I changed the resolution. Same problem.
This really pisses me off. I'm not sure if the card is alive or dead, or if my power supply is enough. I need to know ASAP since if its dead, I need to return it.
