Anyone have trouble registering/creating a new account with T.I.? I added the MSP430 kit to my cart and then clicked Checkout and I had to register a new account. Filled in all the info and clicked Create Account but it keeps saying there's an error with my info.

I only used Labview once. It's like real time Matlab made for the testing environment. As long as you have an interface, you can record/monitor a signal that you give it.

I HATE lab view. I don't understand why everybody likes it so much. I was forced to use it through 3 different labs in college. It would be so much easier to just use C.

Because not all of us are great at C. While I can do some, I would much rather just use nice graphics with programmable stuff instead of coding.

I'm more interested in Atmel and PIC development, but I may jump at this if still available.

The differences between the chips are pretty minimal. I program Atmel ARM, Atmel AVR, and FreeScale S12 chips. The basic concepts are the same.

I routinely copy/paste code between platforms. The only changes are port mappings and any function calls that interface the chip's hardware (timer, ADC, UART, etc).

Yeah, it made for testing, not design. With Matlab, you record the data and you can manipulate it mathematically or do whatever you please with the data. I am not sure you can do that with Labview.

The only thing I like using Lab View for is making customized scopes which can be handy for measuring certain signals.
