I play rythm guitar and I have a singer. I need a lead guitarist, a drummer (Robbie Robinson are you out there?), and a bassist.

We are going to play all kinds of metal except for Satanic metal like Deicide, Death and Cannibal Corpse.

I am serious about this. I have 100's of metal rythms that I need help to piece together to form songs.

The name of our band will be 'False Christian'. I live in Oshawa, Ontario. If you would like more info please call me at 289-312-0361 or E-mail me at rlg1914@rogers.com

Serious inquiries only, please.

I can play everything but drums, but I don't live in Ontario.

Good luck, though. Seriously.

There is nothing more satisfying than witnessing your own ideas come to fruition.

I can play the drums. I used to fuck it up at Compton High.

Thank you. I really believe we could make it especially considering the crap that's out there now.

Just remember: it's going to take a lot of hard work to have a chance to be good. I'm talking tons and tons and tons of repetition.

Playing a song a few times and then having some beers is fun, but won't cut it if you're serious. I doubt you'll truly understand your ensemble dynamic until you're played a song a few hundred times. After you've rehearsed for hours and finally think you nailed it - run it again.

And again.

And again.

The repetitions that happen after everyone is drained and burned out will probably be the greatest learning experience you will have.

Also - it would likely be helpful to have a classically trained musician with a performance background in your crew. You might want consider that when interviewing potential band mates.

You're right. That's good advice. Thanks.

Death and Cannibal Corpse don't even really have Satanic lyrics afaik.
That is true.

The lycics of the band Death are mostly about Death. Not about sky magic fairy fantasy red horn man.

The lycirs about Cannibal Corpse are essentially about the same stuff. Gross violent stuff.

Now, Deicide may have some "satanic" type lyrics, but that of course was just to get a rise out of people.

There is a strong sense of "anti-christianity" in a lot of the metal, that is quite a lot difference from Saying they are "satanist."

If I was a better guitar player, I'd consider as I only live about 60 minutes from you. Here's a pic of my guitar, this would guarantee me a spot.

I can't really think of many of the big metal bands being so anti-Christian except for a few. And most of the better metal bands don't have anything to do with that, unless they are Black Metal.

I do agree with the OP, almost anyone can be better than the crap being put out today. With the exception of a select few bands, I don't even listen to metal anymore.

I listen to metal, but mostly stuff from the 90s. I didn't mean to say that "metal in general" was "anti" anything. Simply stated that there is a decent size presence of Anti-christianity. Wanted to be specific to say that anti-christianity is quite a bit different from "satanist."

Satanists for the most part are made up/imaginary boogeyman.

Black Metal is excellent. I love bands like Immortal, Emperor, Enslaved, Ancient, Abigor, Satyricon, Gorgoroth, Bathory, Burzum, Darkthrone, Ulver, Hades, and Beherit.

I guess I was vaguely referring to guys like Varg Vikerness. Essentially, many of the guys who are upset that the Christians came to Norway 1000 years ago and destroyed the "pagan" holy sites and built their christian churches on top of them. They felt insulted/violated by Christianity, so opted to get "revenge" by burning christian churches.
