Want to feel poor? Stay in downtown Chicago

I couldn't see the image yesterday or today. I guess it's possible that I'm getting poorer? Certainly not getting wealthier. 🙁

Updated the image because Google Photo sharing sucks.

BTW- here's another for us car fans:

Sounds like how I feel when I drive through Beverly Hills.

One time I saw EIGHT Lamborghinis in a row. Not the cheap ones either. There were Aventadors mixed in with Diablos in there.

Later I turned on Rodeo and then saw a Bugatti Veyron with someone that looked like Simon Cowell, but I couldn't be sure because it happened too fast.

I guess it helps when you have the roads for it. Those cars would be WRECKED here just driving normal speeds. Most people have pickups here or old beater cars. Got my struts done a few months back so I should be good for a few years. 😛

Meh, At the end of the day you have to consider how many idiots are able to to maximize tax advantages. The ones you are identifying in Chicago seem like the latter.

At the end of the day, I've been to Chicago a few times in my life - I always find the reported experiences to not equal actuals on the amounts.

Most rich people are amoral idiots and those pretty girls don't stick around when the money dries up.

Middle class and the poor are better? Hey, I want a Lamborghini and a hot model girlfriend. I have neither. But, why hate on them.

Maybe some day. 🙂

We went to Chicago over the weekend for the World Series and stayed on Michigan Avenue. HOL-EE CHIT did I feel out of my element! All the women on the street looked like supermodels, all the guys were wearing Armani jackets, and everyone seemed to be driving a Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Bentley. I mean- look at this outside of the pizza place we were at! Cars like this were parked all the way down the street! Here I am in my 2008 Chrysler Town & Country with the family and feel REALLY out of place.

Kind of makes you feel like you failed at life 😀

haha their vehicles have wheels! POOR!

Maybe it's because I'm from Toronto, but Chicago never struck me as a rich city.

Manhattan did though.

By the way, in Toronto I used to live right beside a Lamborghini dealership. What a totally useless car.

Oh and if you want to see well dressed women, try living in Montreal for a while. Manhattan probably has the best dressed rich, but Montreal has the best dressed non-rich.

Edit:

I just found this list of best dressed US cities. Not surprisingly, New York was number 1.

Chicago didn't even make the top ten, which again wasn't surprising (although some in the top ten were a bit surprising).

Stay on Michigan Avenue. There was a sign on a new building "Condos starting at $3.9 million- ALMOST SOLD OUT!!!"

Might be a rich street but that's a different story. Lots of big cities have a rich street or three but that's not quite the same as places like Manhattan. Different league.

Manhatten overall is a different league, but it isn't just one street in Chicago. Gold Coast, River Northern, creeping into Old Town, and much of downtown along the MM are quite posh in Chicago. Consider that many global companies are headquartered in these neighborhoods (Boeing, for one), and the Chicago Board of Trade is the home of the commodities market.

In the first picture you're right around the corner from the only Lamborghini dealer in Chicago.

The second picture is outside Gibson's steakhouse. Gotta figure why not get a $100 steak for lunch after your $2,000 oil change.
