I have a couple dozen Quicktime MOV files. I want to extract the audio from the files to generate audio files (in a small format like MP3, though AIFF would do). I tried opening them in Final Cut Pro and exporting the audio to Quicktime, but this took a really, really long time (exporting audio from an 8 minute video to AIFF format took 30 minutes - I have several hours worth of audio). Could you please suggest a faster way of extracting the audio from these files?

Thank you very much

Just use Quicktime Pro to do it.

Open the video file in Quicktime. Go to File -> Export. Select from the menu to export the Audio to .aiff

Wait a very short time (15 seconds for a 2 minute video that I had.... actually probably less).

Enjoy
