The DEC in NY has several "robotic" deer whose heads move and stuff. They nail people left and right who pull over on the side of the road and think they're going to shoot a deer from beside their car. About 5 or 6 years ago, one of their deer was shot. The guy had written permission from the landowner to hunt on the property. Thus, he legally shot their robot. :p

So did he get in trouble? Did he have to pay for the deer? How come the DEC never told the owner they set one up? How come the homeowner never told the hunter? Damn this could be it's own post

You need a tag? We should hunt down those filthy robots until the earth is free of their mechanical putrescence. Long live biological lifeforms!

i don't know about all states, but i believe farmers in PA are allowed to shoot deer on their property because they damage crops. I think they can also give permission to other people to hunt there to help out.

i haven't hunted in a long time and always had a license when i did, but i really don't see why the need for licenses to hunt or fish or why its limited to certain times of the year.

?We sit out here hundreds and hundreds of hours and you might get one person to do something. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. "

Thats some tax dollars well spent. I applaud their efforts! WELL DONE!

EDIT:
Penalties for illegal hunting have increased substantially in recent years. Fines can reach up to $500 for a Class A Misdemeanor.

I bet that turkey is paying it self off real quick too.

yeah i think (been a while since i looked it up) that a homeowner can take downa deer on property without tags. they can also let someone hunt the property without tags.
