So did he get in trouble? Did he have to pay for the deer? How come the DEC never told the owner they set one up? How come the homeowner never told the hunter? Damn this could be it's own post

Penalties for illegal hunting have increased substantially in recent years. Fines can reach up to $500 for a Class A Misdemeanor.

i don't know about all states, but i believe farmers in PA are allowed to shoot deer on their property because they damage crops. I think they can also give permission to other people to hunt there to help out.
i haven't hunted in a long time and always had a license when i did, but i really don't see why the need for licenses to hunt or fish or why its limited to certain times of the year.
