Sounds decent, but come on, you can do MUCH better then a junky old Voodoo3. Poor performance, and no driver support.

What about Radeon 64MB VIVO, I think around $200, has TV out, I think.

As for 3dfx, I used to be a BIG TDFX fan. But, I would not buy a card now from them, going out of business, lack of driver support, etc.

Good luck, the rest sounds good to me.

You can always get a lower clocked T-bird, overclock it and use the savings to get a better video card. I believe it's a federal offense to pair a 1ghz processor with a Voodoo 3.

You didn't include a sound card, so I'm assuming you just forgot to include it. Which one did you choose?

[EDIT] Which heatsink?

Yep. Make sure you get a good heatsink - you don't want any heat problems.;)

Yikes......As I said I'm new at building. What heatsink should I get.
I downgraded my 1 Ghz. to a 900Mhz. and chose a ATI All-in-Wonder Rage 128 32 AGP Video Card, TV-Tuner, HDW DVD Playback OEM. Only problem is that is doesn't have Tv in.

Unless you need RAID, skip it. Put your money into the Video card as others have suggested. Remember, the raid controller consumes available resources also making configuration more complex. By the way the onboard non-raid controller is faster anyways.

If you want to get a video card with excellent DVD playback and TV out, go with the Radeon 64MB VIVO. If you want fast framerates in games like Q3, go with the Geforce 2 Pro 64MB DDR.

at least get the all in wonder radeon, Rage will get you nowhre.

also, drop the Abit and get an Asus(a7v133). Its both faster AND more stable. how can you go wrong with that?

Radeon VIVO or the Radeon All-in-wonder. Here's a tip if you are going to trash your old computer. Take out the vid card and do ATI's Trade up deal. The FAQ is a little out dated and doesn't mention the newer cards but they are on the order form. You can grab a Radeon 64meg DDR VIVO for $185 minus a $30 mail in rebate, a nice $155 as long as you send in any crappy vid card. The All-in-wonder is alot more pricey and will cost you $260 minus $30 rebate for a total of $230. Take your pic, only catch is you got to cover the shipping charges for the cards, but that's worth the cash saved.
