I want to build a PC that is nearly DEAD quiet, for running Linux 24/7. Maybe Fedora Core, maybe something else..not sure yet. So it can be low tech, just one hard drive (doesn't even need to be SATA), 512MB RAM or so, a single DVD-ROM, that's it. Everything else (graphics, sound) can be onboard. Small form factor would be good, too, like those old Dell Optiplexes.. something I can tuck away in a corner and it won't draw much attention.

What would be a good way to go?

Too late, I bought the above Shuttle system already :) It has great reviews, I think it'll be great for a Linux box.
