Want to build a PS3 cluster?

No, not really.

When you get down to it, it really does

The fastest computer in he world uses the synergy between Opteron and Cells.

The Cell is a very specialized processor. It's great for math but it's missing a lot of modern features like OoOE that limit it as a complete general purpose processor like a modern RISC or CISC processor.

I read the tutorial, and that cluster doesn't seem to do much than calculate Pi once it's built.

Does anybody have some software for this yet? A SETI @Home application, maybe?

Only the 360 fanboys.

Not really. I prefer my PS3 over 360 and I bitch about the lack of games daily. It's a shame that I've played more RPG's on the 360 than the PS3.

Damn SONY and their slow ass developers.

That's why I mentioned it's mainly used for university research purposes. Professors write their own code to run on these clusters. It's meant to compete with legitimate super computers for research projects and such and in this space most of the application code is going to be in house apps written to solve specific problems.
